Café Brasserie Le Palace — Restaurant in Limoux

We arrived at around 8.30pm on an admittedly busy Sunday evening to be rudely told that we had no option to see a menu or order any drinks. We were told by the apparent manager that it would be an hour wait, with no apology or offer to take drinks orders whilst waiting. We were refused the option of ordering food and our 2nd waiter was told to serve 2 other tables, who arrived after we were seated, before us. Arrived in Quillan for a week and rented house was right next to this restaurant. Went there the first night and was rudely told no tables. Understandable without a reservation but why no offer of a later time or to make a reservation for the next day? And why not polite and a smile...maybe a good idea in the hospitality industry?? Just sayin... Looking at some other reviews it seems they don't want to learn so I determined my money would be better spent elsewhere with those businesses...

The food was terrible. It was the toughest and most tasteless steak I have ever eaten, I left more than half of it. We had the menu entrecote which they claimed on the menu was 3 courses. The entrée (salade mix) came bunged on the plate of the main course and the dessert was apparently a scoop of nougat ice cream, not explained either on the menu or when we ordered. The waitress told us we could order any dessert after the main course. The wine was ok but I do not recommend eating...
