Les Boulistes — Restaurant in Lyon

Lovely surprise. I hadn't planned anything for my trip to Lyon, but I'm glad I didn't! We found this restaurant while wandering the streets and it was a very pleasant discovery. The spot is really nice and discreet, next to people playing pétanque (“the national sport”, apparently). The food is a bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. It's probably the best food I've had in Lyon. However, the best part was probably the service. I made a booking here and after walking 30 minutes uphill arrived to find our booking was not valid. If you do not speak French I think it is important to understand that the online booking system requires an official acceptance fromThe restaurant. The staff were very kind though in trying to explain to us that our booking was not valid. I was disappointed that we couldn’t eat here as I’m sure the food and staff would have been wonderful and I am annoyed at my stupidity. Hopefully we will come back to Lyon again and...

What a pity that some restaurants do not understand what the tourists brings to the city and how they move in the 21st century.... The kitchen is closed at 13h45... Even not able to bring a plate with charcuterie and cheese.... I will not recommend a place offering so little service...
