First of all, the restaurant is situated in a pretty strange location, the street is quite shady and unattractive. However the place is nice and luxurious. The staff are well dressed and mannered. When we were seated and ready to order drinks, we tired to call a waiter but they were talking instead of observing the guests. We ordered 4 aperol spritz and 1 beer. 5 aperol spritz came out. We also ordered 2 bottles of water, a server came out with them, and his colleague came with another set of water bottles. we got double, 4 bottles of water. A big lack of communication, considering the fact that they were the ones talking earlier and they can’t even decide who serves what. The baguette was cold but the other bread served with it was good. Once again, hard to get a hold of waiters. Quite irritating when they glare towards your direction and don’t see your hand up. She finally saw us and looked frustrated taking our order. The one welcoming guests in full black clothing , ironically isn’t very welcoming.
Entrées/Appetizers
Very nice presentation of appetizers, it looked delicious and it was. There was only 1 toast for the foie gras, that was unfortunate. We ordered an aperol spritz again, no double straws and it was not mixed, not the same as when we ordered them in the beginning. Nothing serious but inconsistent. Woman with square glasses and tied brown hair very kind and enthusiastic. she actually tries. good job.
the dishes were well presented again and the pork was tender and tasty.
I recommend this place, just up the service a little bit! it also seems like they are forced to be enthusiastic it’s...

Why starting the New Year 2025 by visiting the Marguerite Restaurant? Because it was already many times that I was hoping to feel the atmosphere of this amazing, historically important not only for the city of Lyon, but to the entire world touched by talents of the Lumière family. Then... before booking a table, I read reviews ... I must say... yes, I agree that non french speakers might have some inconvenient moments. But really? Adding negative reviews for the service that will or can change, improve or for the fact that you spent a few more minutes explaining why you are hete at the first place... not good for those who wrote wrong things. I, therefore spoke with people at the Marguerite... to all the future visitors. You are all more then welcomed here! The food is in the best traditions of the Paul Bocuse. Every drop of it is prepared with high cousine , with expertise... Price is at the level of times... menu is rich... And yes, speak with your heart. Take your time. Enjoy the place and atmosphere we can hardly create at home...
The most sincerely Ludmila...
Read moreWe have been happy to lunch and dine at Marguerite before. Last night, we had invited friends for a pre-Christmas dinner. By the end of the - lovely - meal, my husband left the table and settled the bill for all 4 of us. As we were leaving the restaurant, we were challenged quite loudly by a waiter, accusing us of not having paid. It was not done elegantly or discreetly, rather the opposite - in front of our friends and in earshot of a good part of the diners. Of course, my husband could produce the receipt and that settled it. A very awkward situation as we were in fact charged with theft. We did not receive any form of excuse, the waiter in question just turned her back on us. No goodbye or thank you from her, either. She already worked at Marguerite this past summer, so she cannot claim not knowing how to behave in an otherwise pleasant restaurant. Very disappointing, - a shame as we very strongly doubt that...
