I've been to Zappo's for lunch several times. This last time, the pizza was ok, but the service was beyond bad. Why you ask ? Here is a timeline of our "great" experience at Zappo:
TL.DR -- Service here is beyond bad, plenty of other pizza places close by that are a ton better.
12h00 - called to make a reservation for 10 people. Zappo's staff told us no problem, we'll get a table for you on the terrace.
12h20 - A few minutes after getting there, we told the waiter that we were ready to order to which he replied, "I only have to take the order of the tables that arrived before you". Seems fair
12h50 - more people kept arriving at the restaurant. After casually taking the order of a grand total of 14 people, distributed over 4 different tables, all of which clearly arrived after us, we walked over to the waiter to ask if he had not forgotten about us -- "don't worry I'm coming over right now"
12h55 - he came over, I pointed out that he had attended to a few other tables, that clearly arrived after us (one of which was sitting right next to us ). He denied then dismissed and asked to take our order. Which we did
13h30 - we went inside to ask where our pizzas were. The waiter was taking another costumers payement and chatting with them afterwards. We told him we were ready to leave as we didn't even have our drinks and we were sitting for over 1h. Another waiter came over to bring us drinks instantly. (We are talking about 2 water bottles and 3 beers)
13h35 - tired of all the waiting, we went inside to inform them that we would be leaving. We could see all the pizzas for our table just chilling on the table.
13h38 - We asked the kitchen staff for takeaway boxes, picked up our pizzas ourselves ( after confirming it was ours ),...

There surprisingly weren’t many places open and our French is limited, but we were using it as much as we could to enquire about gluten free options. I’m pretty sure we tried ordering burgers in a strip club that wasn’t fully open yet…
Then we walked round the corner and found Zappo!
The staff were incredibly kind, there were gluten free options for our coeliac member of the group and the restaurant was clean, vibrant and they honestly couldn’t have done enough for us.
If I ever come to Lyon again, I will absolutely use this place again!
The pizza’s were a great size and incredibly cheesy and tasty!
They even let us take some wine back as all the shops had closed by the time we finished - amazing service!
Merci...
