This was the worst dining experience I've had for ten or more years. Horrible! We visited after finding a leaflet for this 'new' brasserie on cars outside our flat. The leaflet promised a free cocktail to diners: it surprisdd us that this was one per table, not per customer. It wasn't one of the advertised cocktails. We requested this (rum with grenadine) and bought another, which arrived with small dead flies floating in it. Being English we decided not to say anything. The dining room should be pretty (a lovely painted panel on the ceiling) but looked very scruffy, with the owner doing her paperwork in the dining room. We chose the menu. I started with an egg en cocotte with food gras. It was not awful, but listed on the menu at €11 should have been nicer. But the main courses were really bad. I had a gateaux de foie de vollailes which was unpleasant. But my wife had a bavette which, though not tough, tasted of nothing and was accompanied by a really horrid pepper sauce like wallpaper paste. She really couldn't face it. I tried it and agreed. We asked for the bill, declining desert. The pot of Macon blanc wasn't nasty, and we had a perfectly nice bottle of San Pellegrino water. But paid €57 (the second cocktail, which we were surprised to pay for after our welcome offer, was given 'free' because we disliked the meal. Seriously, this was bad. I can't believe it can survive....
Read moreThe website is nothing like the real place, we never saw the nice terrace but it might be there... the inside looks very old fashioned. We entered the place one hour ago and thought it was closed because it was very dark inside, no music, etc. The waitress was nice. She spoke English but she left right after she served us the two beers. We did not ask for the price or were offered a menu with prices. A lady who seemed to be the owner of the place was right there supervising everything. The seating area by the wall was broken! A young boy arrived who seemed to be related to the lady because he brought her some boxes of medicine or similar. The atmosphere was so uncomfortable that we went to pay and the guy could not tell us how much it was. The lady/owner was extremely rude telling him in french: "11€,11 €, elle ne comprends pas 11€?" The waiter was panicking, he was not even holding eye contact and could not say anything in french nor English nor write on the phone the amount. We paid the expensive two beers and left. A very...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant on Saturday evening. It nicely surprised me and my companions. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced for that we got. The appetizer for the course menu which consisted of pumpkin puree and gorgonzola foam was phenomenal! I ordered a beef tartare and even though I'm a big eater, I barely was able to finish all the food. The macaroni with truffles that came along with beef tenderloin took us by surprise because of how delicious it was. The service was fantastic too. Despite the language barrier since we don't speak French, the waiter was very patient with us and took his time to understand our requests for food and drinks. The owner was also very friendly and accommodating. It was one of the best meals I've had in awhile and my party agrees with me! We will definitely visit again if we are...
