Praline & Banette — Restaurant in Marseille

I think this place is good for sweets, but not for sandwiches. I was disappointed by the baguette sandwich I ordered. I tried the pesto + tomato + mozzarella one ( €5.50 ), and it turned out to be about 85% lettuce. I also felt a bit cheated because the tomato and mozzarella were pushed toward the open side of the sandwich, making it look full of ingredients, but in reality it was mostly lettuce. The bread itself was good, though.

Malheureusement, contrairement aux avis qui m’avaient donné envie de tester cette boulangerie, mon expérience a été décevante au niveau des produits. J’écris ce commentaire à contre-cœur, car l’accueil était absolument superbe : le personnel était très sympathique et à l’écoute, ce qui justifie mes deux étoiles dédiées à cette ambiance chaleureuse.

En revanche, les produits étaient une véritable catastrophe. Le pain au chocolat était dur, et les éclairs à la pistache, qui me faisaient pourtant très envie, ont fini à la poubelle. La crème à l’intérieur était extrêmement acide, au point que ce n’était même plus une question de goût, mais plutôt un doute sur la fraîcheur du produit.

J’ai même essayé de prendre une deuxième bouchée pour en être sûr, mais c’était tout simplement immangeable, avec un goût vraiment acide. Malheureusement, c’était ma première fois, et ce sera...

Such a friendly bakery - we went on one day for some lunch and then came back again the next for pastries. The team even remembered us! The bread is French baguette perfection - crispy and fluffy on the inside - and the pastries are to die for. Definite visit Praline on your trip...
