First things first: the basic premise of a rodizio is that you will get a lot of meat, and this is hard to mess up. In that sense, this restaurant covers that relatively well. The buffet for both cold and hot dishes was standard, plenty of options, although I don't usually load too much on these, as i go to a rodizio to eat the meat, not the accoutrements. I quite liked the fried banana, the farofa and vinagrete. In terms of the meats, the picanha was of course, the best (as it should always be), and some other cuts were interesting. Quite a few of the other options i found a bit questionable, like the fraldinha with cheese. I don't know why someone would do that, but ok I get it, it might be something someone, somewhere , enjoys. The one thing neither of us understood was that when I asked for a caipirinha, the waiter told me, it's without alcohol, which i laughed as i thought he was making a joke. He reiterated what he said, and i understood he was serious. I don't know if this is a city rule or not, as i don't live in Marseille and i am unaware of the local rules, but he told us they don't serve alcohol. I declined the caipirinha then, as otherwise it's little more than lemonade. As usual, I'd book before going, as i think we got lucky and they had a table available, but otherwise would've struggled to get a table. I also saw people get turned away for not having an updated vaccination certificate, so that's good to note.

I have no words to explain how bad this restaurant is, but as a civilian I have to come here and alert people. THIS IS NOT BRAZILIAN RESTAURANT. Food quality: for sure the meat is not Brazilian imported. Which is okay as you can still find similar elsewhere in Europe. However, the taste is rancid and with seasoning that reminds a trip to Morocco rather than Brazil. Options: not to say that for an authentic Brazilian restaurant, no alcohol drinks and no pork seems pretty inaccurate. The offer as meat option ham with cheese and lamb! Are we sure this is a Brazilian restaurant? Buffet: offering is again a straight trip to Algeria or any country related. The seasoning for the food - I have no idea where they came up with all those herbs. If you are in town and it’s looking to discover Brazilian cuisine or as a Brazilian missing home. This restaurant is not for you.

This place has alright food and slightly sub par service. The real issue is unrelated to the kitchen and wait staff and more the business model. The Brazilian "experience" is just that, kind of a Brazilian steakhouse but not really. For 38 euro you are allowed one portion of each of the ten meats and that is all. They do provide red green cards but they ignore them. The real downside to this is if you go with a group you only get one card so when 1 person wants pineapple, you all need to take it and they won't come back with it since they mark it off. It really ruins the experience. Since the Brazilian steakhouse offering the "Brazil experience" does not offer it's guests a Brazilian steakhouse or a steak house experience I give it one star. Also a side note, mocktails are 9 euro and there are no alcoholic beverages of any type here.

If going to a good restaurant matters to you, be sure to read my honest and comprehensive review. I had chosen this restaurant because of its positive review points, but I totally regret my choice and will never try it again. However, not everything is negative and you still have some positives. I therefore start with the positive ones :

The ambience of the restaurant is warm, beautifully designed and well decorated. The location is also ideal, close to the "Old Port" of Marseille, in front of a public parking, which means you can easily park your car, enjoy your meal (we didn't) and stroll around the city harbor after eating. The drinks are also very good, really refreshing and tasty; but if you are looking for an alcoholic drink, this is not the ideal place to get in as this restaurant is labeled "Halal"!

Now let's talk about the negatives :

The restaurant is known to be an open buffet for meats and other ingredients; but the only part that is not really "open buffet" is the meat ! At the open buffet, you have potatoes, fries, salads, chicken heart, marinated chicken breast and beef, cold and hot pasta, sauces, etc. ; a very normal open buffet, not too many or a variety of choices, but satisfying. I mean, just satisfying ! But, the negative part, which should normally be the best part, is the meat. They say they have 10 different types of meat ! two of which are grilled pineapples and garlic bread !!! Just a pineapple and not really garlicy bread either ! Or maybe 8 meats + chicken heart and marinated cooked beef you can find in the open buffet = 10 ? But you also have marinated fish, so there are 11 different meats and not 10 ?! Anyway, here are the next 8 meats :

Spicy Beef : Grilled beef with pepper, just very normal grilled beef, a little on the neutral to positive side and a little on the negative side, depending on the time and portion served to you ! My wife liked the first track and didn't like the second. Personally, I didn't like it in general.

Leg of lamb with garlic and mint sauce : I guess it was some sort of sous vide or already cooked then grilled meat. Absolutely not delicious, I couldn't find any sign of garlic or mint, but I don't think that was bad either. Neither me nor my wife liked it.

Cheesy Beef : Like the tender leg of lamb, but grilled with a cheese sauce. Not tasty at all !

Piece of smoked turkey caramelized with honey : Small pieces of supermarket-quality roasted turkey with sauce or curry = Not pleasant at all !

Juicy Beef Sausage : I think they gave us turkey sausages instead ! very poor quality supermarket like sausage = Horrible !

Marinated Chicken Drumstick : A thawed chicken drumstick (or maybe grilled while still frozen!), grilled with curries = Awful !

Spicy Chicken : We've never seen that ! It was only small pieces of chicken breast, normally grilled with a few curries = very normal and even of poor quality !

and finally Picanha beef : simply awful ! Very rough, very heavy, really hard to chew and eat ! I'm really sorry, but I hated it !

The food was very salty with lots of oil which is the strategy of cheap open buffet restaurants to keep you from eating more ! ! ! But at €36.90 per person without dessert and without drink ! are you kidding me ?!! Another negative point is the fact that as soon as you got served in the first round, with a very small portion of meat of course ! , the waiters no longer arrive voluntarily, and you have to ask them for more meat ! Really disgusting and really annoying ! Finally, if you are not in a good place, maybe near the kitchen, good luck to be served with hot and...

Unprofessional, unfriendly customer service on Friday 6 August 2021.

We were excited to try the Rodizio Brazil, however we could not book a date in advance before leaving Marseille. On the last day of our stay we decided to take a chance and enquire for a table and were told we could wait up to 45 minutes, which we were happy to do. We were contacted within 40 minutes and was promptly seated. The menu seemed complicated with all the selections and we did not get any help from the Waiter who was unable to finish his explanation without interruption. From the extensive menu it turns out that there were only three menus available which were the most expensive one at €32 and the kids and vegetarian menus. We have three children but I asked to order two kids menus as my youngest child was not too hungry. The Waiter told us this was not possible as we were obliged to order three kids menus regardless as this is the rules of the restaurant. I asked to speak to the Manager and the Waiter was flipent with his reply and offered to get the Director instead. When the Manager arrived he repeated that we were all required to purchase a meal regardless of whether they were kids and this was the restaurants policy, which was common in France. He was patronising as he told me that may be I did not understand as I was not from here although I am from Toulouse. I asked to see where these rules were available to see and I was told he did not have to show me them. Having spent ten minutes of répétition from the Manager we decided to leave as they were not very accommodating to us. So although we cannot comment on the food, the Customer Service is appalling. I would suggest the Manager should take the free feedback to improve their service. As their replies to other negative reviews are very defensive and show they do not take constructive criticism seriously; I suggest you visit other restaurants that make you feel welcome and special as we have already experienced...

The attempt to join the French cuisine with one of the most popular Brazilian dishes is not a bad thing. The marinated chicken was completely bland inside and disgusting from outside, the chicken hearts overcooked and with so many spices that makes me think that I was not eating chicken, the cow meats that was served was overcooked and presented with melted cheese and other stuff that made it so horrible that I lost my appetite for all the rest of the courses that still had to come. I DEFINITELY don't recommend the lamb that they serve, on the first bite I thought that my wife would throw up on the spot... Buffet- very rich on choice unfortunately what was supposed to be the side dish it was already cold and in general all was bland. French fries dry and not fresh. The entire gastronomic experience was so bad that for our sake we decided to skip it. Waiting time between the rodizio serving was way too long. The only positive thing in our experience was the beer that for our luck it was not done by the restaurant. I have visited many of Brazilian restaurants and I thought that it is IMPOSSIBLE to go wrong with Rodizio but this restaurant proved me wrong. The chef and owner should be ashamed to serve this to customers. No wonder that in 2020 and 2021 there was no award for this restaurant. By reading other negative comments I only can agree with their statements and shake my head on the owners reply. Almost 90 euros spent on garbage food that not even a DOG would eat.... The only star goes to the decor of the restaurant...

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY...
