The views are really great, and this would easily be a five star had there not been for a couple caveats. The first one is that the mid-day departure seemed over-booked. Although we met up 30 minutes before, we didn't get to sit outside. The second caveat is that all announcements (including safety announcements I assume?) were only given in French. To compensate, they had QR codes to a Google Maps system where the same info was available, but this solution was subpar. Firstly, you had to read it yourself and often had to choose between seeing the nature or reading about it. Second, there are areas without cellular data, so half the journey we couldn't access the info. Had the accouncements been in both French and English (or a digital resource where you could listen to the English announcements), a lot more would get to know the historical context of the beautiful nature. That being said, I would still recommend you to check out the tour as it's an...
Read moreBooked a 3hr boat trip to view the Marseille coastline (speaking English to ticket office as ignorantly I don't speak French). Boarded to boat saying hello to deck hand. Cruise commenced and sights were very beautiful however there was no translation into English so we sat and listened to French commentary for 3 hours, needless to say it became very boring. On return to port I complained at ticket booth about lack of pre warning of no translation only to be informed we had to ask for translation once on board! How were we supposed to know that? Asked why we weren't given this information when booking ticket her reply was " I talk all day, I don't have time to tell every customer to request translation paper, it's not my job!". REALLY!!!! Extremely poor...
Read moreWe booked the Calanques 2h15 tour and were a bit disappointed. Safety instructions and explanations were given only in French on board. There is an English (also other languages) version for the explanations, but it’s only available in a PDF you access through a QR code, which lists all tours together and makes it hard to find the right content. For people who get seasick quickly or simply don’t want to read during the ride, this is quite inconvenient. The jokes and explanations on board also didn’t match what was written. During the trip, you mainly see a few rock formations, which wasn’t very impressive, and we returned almost 30 minutes later than scheduled. On the plus side, there are toilets on board and the afternoon tour was...
