Restaurant La Boucherie — Restaurant in Metz

After I checked in to the Ibis hotel in which this restaurant is located, I was really happy to see that they had such a nice restaurant on-site. After such a long drive, I was not in the mood to drive anywhere for dinner. A quick glance at the menu reassured me that dinner here would be an excellent choice.

I had brought along the family dog on this trip, so we retired to the beautiful terrace to enjoy a quiet beer before dining. I was offered a choice of table outside in the glorious sunshine and chose the caprese salad to begin with, followed by one of their steak options, the Tresor du Louchebem. The lovely waitress, Joanna, who was sweet, friendly and always with a smile upon her face, recommended a strong Corse wine to accompany my main course. For my furry companion I ordered a simple steak hache from the childrens menu.

The salad was delectable and fresh, with a generous serving of mozarella. The steak was cooked to perfection and melted like butter in my mouth. Joanna's wine choice was perfect. I helped myself to a second glass. But the dog was the one who was truly spoiled. Not only did he get his steak hache, but the chef gifted him the end-cuts from a roast she had finished in the oven. The pieces of meat were so good that I would have eaten them myself!

I unfortunately did not leave enough room to try dessert. But judging from the menu choice and visual panoply from those dining next to me, nobody would be left disappointed.

A nice restaurant to eat while travelling. We had entrecote and the mystic burger. The entrecote was nicely medium rare and also the burger taste was good. Small suggestions for improvement: The salad served with the food could be a bit more stuffed (i.e. with tomatoes/carrots) and the lettuce softer (typical french romaine for example). We had a great meal here and it's (mostly) because of the service. Our little one got upset almost as soon as we sat down and she got into the highchair. We ordered her fries with our drink order to try and calm her down and the kitchen put out her fries within minutes. The bartender brought her a balloon and everyone there was so nice.
