Surf Palace — Restaurant in Mont-de-Marsan

I would have loved to write something good about the food or drinks, but as other people already stated in their posts, this review is mainly about the service in the restaurant or shall I better say, the non-existent service as we did not get the chance to order any food or drinks!

Waited for more then 15 minutes in an almost empty restaurant, just to be obviously ignored by the complete staff and manager, which had better things to do like randomly moving around the equipment or twiddling their thumbs.

If your restaurants policy includes to be assigned a table by the waiter/waitress or you just work with reservations, then also make sure that you have a sign stating this and additionally someone standing at the entrance to welcome guests like all the other good restaurants do. You could at least talk to your guests and make them aware of this policy instead of just ignoring them! This behaviour does not make you feel welcome at this place.

Food was allright. But terrible hostess. Since it was quite in the restaurant we took a seat at the table. The waitress helped us really kindly. No problems. Untill the hostess/manager, almost 'kicked' us to an other table because she needed to have this table for someone else. That having said, she started already packing our stuff and moved it to the other table. In the meantime we just got our food and where eating. After moving over to a other table the hostess came by again to mentoin that she also needed that table withing 30'minutes and came bu every 10 minututes to say so. Verry unpleasant. If they told us at the begining we would go somewher else. And when we want to pay they let us wait ridiculious long. All the staff was nice but she 'the manager' was just a which. Never come here again because of her....

We stopped here for dinner, great location on the beach and plenty of parking outside. Food was good, a fairly basic menu but still enough to choose something from. Unfortunately the service was somewhat to be desired. We had to fend for ourselves looking for a table, a baby chair, tables felt somewhat dirty. I noticed a waiter rolling his eyes when we decided to move tables due to the chairs being uncomfortable. The service overall just seemed pretty cold and let the place...
