The Meltin' Pot — Restaurant in Mont-de-Marsan

Best place in Mimizan. I have a very heavy gluten allergy for which they don't recommend coming there. But after seeing the other options nearby this seemed to be by far the safest for me. So after talking to the waitress for a bit we got seated. It's not a big place but very cozy and not on the main street which I personally prefer over sitting somewhere where everyone is looking at every single bite you take. Anyhow back to the food, 1 of the burgers had the possibility to be made gluten free. Most of the time with gluten the fryer is the bigger issue, but the waitress assured me they don't fry anything else in there besides fries which was very reassuring because oh man.. Those fries were looking and smelling delicious.. The entire staff showed a lot of interest in the allergy making jokes (or perhaps not haha) making it a lovely experience. The food was delicious and everything went well for me. It actually went so well that we decided to also have our lunch there the next day. I definitely didn't mind eating the same burger twice and would happily do it again. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bite in Mimizan for also a very good price. Also if you do happen to have an allergy like mine, it is at your own risk. They gave me a fair warning, and things went well, but this can obviously also go the other way. Late in the season, September 12th, we ventured into The Meltin' Pot after passing it by the night before. Super friendly staff, really welcoming and helpful and oh my god, the best fries I have ever eaten and a great burger. I had to search hard for a poor review of this place but eventually one (just one out of 325!) from a Tw.at who turned up 10 minutes before opening time and was asked to come back in 10 minutes. Good vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options. Actually went back a second time to get take away. Took 10 minutes for our food to be prepared for us. And the cheezy garlic bread was heavenly. I really loved the veggie burger I had here both times I ate it and their chips are good too. Staff was friendly and lovely. All in all I really enjoyed this restaurant and highly recommend it.
