Fleur de Sel — Restaurant in Montpellier

I highly recommend to AVOID this restaurant. It was by far the worst experience I ever had in a restaurant. The cook is a complete psycopath, and the rest of the team seems to accept it or are used to it.

We had a reservation for two people, we were waiting for 45 minutes just to order the food. After another 20 minutes the food arrives. Reading other reviews seems normal to wait one hour to be served. We are not french speakers, the waiter came with the food telling a name we did not understand and we shaked our heads saying no, she left and served the plate to another table. Then the waiter came back and explained us it was our plate and she clarified us the misunderstanding.

After another 5 minutes we are finally served. Then the cook comes out of the restaurant and ask us agresively if we have rejected the plate. We try to explain the misunderstanding but she is completely mad and she continues speaking in French which we do not understand. We are not able to explain ourselfs in English because she is not listening at all.

We finished our meal and ask for the bill. After 10 minutes we decided to pay inside the restaurant. Then the cook came at us again with a board with the name of the plate written there, trying to make fun of us. At that point it was a complete non sense. We repplied in our mother tongue and she insulted us. We paid and left.

Went for lunch here and after over an hour and 15 minutes we had to walk out and go elsewhere to get our food . The service here was absolutely awful and numerous people were having long waits before they got anything to eat . We got a starter after 20 minutes but that was the end of it

It was today at 30 minutes pass 12  O Clock myself and my wife sat down , and there was no request to have a réservation. We were overlooked by you staff who at one stage brought us down the wrong meals . There was other people who sat down after we had ordered who received there meals. There was no apologies offered or taken and I stand fully by my review and would highly recommend that you take all your staff aside and give them a good talking to and using the excuse of the pandemic is a low attempt to use the suffering of people to aid an excuse for poor service and bear in mind the people who suffered a loss and you want to take from a frank review and use it as a crutch for you and your staffs short...

So I read so many good things about this restaurant I decided I really wanted to try it my first day in Sete. I arrived at restaurant at 12.15, the server said they weren't ready and could I comeback in ten mins. Went back at 12.30 (I'm a solo traveller) the restaurant was empty apart from one man in there, i asked same server for a table and was told I could only have a table if I joined the other man. I speak very poor French and the man didn't speak English so not a great fit. I went along with it as reviews I read were so good. Food was amazing I had the coq au vin, meat melts in ur mouth truly delicious. The whole time I was in there (about 45 mins) only 2 other tables came in, so I didn't quite understand why they insisted I sat with the other solo diner.
