Meli'Uniquess — Restaurant in Nîmes

I have never in my life had a restaurant make a soup from scratch for me before! I had the chicken soup with plantain and it was absolutely delicious. Please know, it took an hour to prepare and it was certainly worth the wait.

All the food is made in house and the quality is apparent. If you’re ready to get high quality, home made food, I highly suggest going here and bring friends. It had the kind of vibe that makes you feel like you’re chilling at a friend’s house and your friend is a good cook! 🤤

The owner was incredibly kind and we talked a lot about the vision she has for her restaurant and why it’s important to her to have high standards.

If you’re tired of going to restaurants in Nimes where they serve you “cuisine assemblage” and treat you like they don’t even want to serve you, run to Meli’Uniquess! You will eat well and enjoy a beautiful atmosphere with delightful owner and staff.

PS: I even love the color of the walls and the art. 😍

As someone who has eaten a lot of African food over the years I was genuinely excited to discover an African restaurant in Nîmes and decided to give it a try.

The fish and plantains were well cooked and flavorful. The Jollof Rice and Peanut Butter soup however, were really disappointing. I’ve enjoyed Peanut Butter Soup and Jollof in several variations in different countries and this was easily the worst I’ve had. The beef in the soup was tough and grey in color, and the “foufou” served was more similar to mashed potatoes (as in American Thanksgiving style) than actual foufou.

The Bissap was actually excellent and the best I've had, which made the meal feel weirdly...

We had a great tasty lunch at Meli’Uniquess…the nostalgia of African food kicked in and we decided to give this place a go which we didn’t regret the food was amazing and the service was top notch. The owner was super friendly and even gave her own iPad to my daughters to watch cartoon while waiting for the food. I definitely recommend this place if you want to try the African cuisine experience go for it and...
