Le Palais Gourmand — Restaurant in Nancy

We booked the special offer for 2p from Groupon before the day we visited Nancy and were attracted by the high rate in Google - a brilliant decision!

At the very first we were a little bit worried when arriving to the restaurant in noon since the lounge was completely empty with no other guests, but suddenly we felt relieved because the guests were just arranged in the terrace deep behind the lounge.

Service was flawless, every waiter tried his best to satisfy the customers' requests in time. We got basic introduction of the wine list and dishes in simple English, free water, refillable basket of bread, two candies made of bergamot (one of the most famous local fruit) and lots of smiles. The environmental hygiene was also well-maintained since they cleaned the used tables with disinfectant sprays. Spectacular! We had such a great time at this restaurant. The service was amazing—the host was super friendly and spoke English, which was a huge plus for us. The food was really creative and tasted fantastic. We absolutely loved the lamb shank; it was so good I forgot to take a picture until I was halfway through! The frog legs were delicious . Abbiamo prenotato con TheFork in questo ristorante con il 30% di sconto. Abbiamo subito letto che lo sconto NON sarebbe stato fatto sui menù. Quando abbiamo fatto l’ordinazione ci è stato invece detto che lo sconto del 30% valeva anche per il menù di 49€ che comprendeva entré, piatto e dessert. Abbiamo chiesto conferma per ben tre volte, essendo la cosa diversa da quello scritto su TheFork. Abbiamo compreso benissimo e non ci dicano che, essendo stranieri, non avevamo capito. Di solito noi non prendiamo il dessert. La signora che ha preso l’ordine ha insistito perché lo prendessimo, essendo compreso nel menù. Al momento di pagare però ci è stato fatto lo sconto su ogni singolo piatto e non sul menù da 49€. La signora che aveva preso l’ordine inoltre era scomparsa. In fin dei conti abbiamo speso solo 10-15€ in più, ciò non mi cambia davvero la vita, ma mi ha dato molto fastidio questo comportamento. Quindi raccomando a chi prenota con TheFork al 30% di non credere se dicono che la promozione vale anche per il menù da 49€. NON è vero. Comunque i piatti che abbiamo preso erano veramente ottimi, ma dato l’accaduto non posso dare più di due stelle. Il cameriere che ci ha servito gentilissimo e molto professionale; mi spiace solo di aver discusso con lui per il pagamento quando la colpa era solo della sua capa, che aveva preso l’ordine e che alla fine è scomparsa.
