LE POULPE — Restaurant in Narbonne

Unfortunately I have to be honest and write a honest review. I went to this small restaurant with my wife. We looked at the menu card and decided to go for the mussels with fries. And oh my I was disappointed. The mussels were already pre cooked and only warmed up. Some were so small It wasn't worth pulling them out of the clam. Me and my wife were worried about getting food poisoning from this So we quickly went somewhere else to eat something else to flush down the faul taste of those mussels. I strongly don't recommend this place. It is infested with flies. I've seen people fight flies during their dinner. And I ain't talking about 1 fly or 2, I mean 50 flies ready to eat your dinner. I've talked to the person in charge about it and she told me she couldn't do anything about it. She adviced eating around 20 o clock, then the flies should be gone. We dropped bye by chance as there was a jazz quartet playing in the canal du midi village Homps Before it started dinner we chose the set menu for €26 and a 50cl pitcher of wine for €7, the starters arrived woosh! fab unexpected huge plates nicely presented and delicious. I had king Prawns and Bullots (Whelks) my partner had a mixed plate of delicious hot cheese. We followed it with main courses of "Gardianne de Taureau" a kind of beef stew and a wonderful plate of Octopus in a tomato and onion sauce both were excellent, some refreshing sorbet and a fresh coffee finished the dinner nicely and back to the canal du midi for some...
