Service: We arrived around 21h10 and we were able to finally order only at 21h36, even if the restaurant was completely empty. We had to call them twice because nobody asked what we wanted to drink. The young guy was nice. The owner lied to us about the bad quality of food. The food arrived at 22h... almost 1h to get food, and the restaurant was empty, it doesn't justify the wait.
Food: the worse sushi I have ever seen in my life, and we are a big consumers of sushi. The rice was already done and warmed up at the microwave, the sashimi was frozen and heated in the microwave causing a color change on the Tuna, as you can see by the photos attached (yellow outside and the inside was grayish), we could not eat it! And when we asked the owner about it, he tried to lie to us saying that the red that we expected only happens if the fish was fished right away, that the weird color was normal... that is not normal!! First time we saw Tuna like that!! The sushi was the same, done several days before or frozen, besides that the rice wasn't white, some parts of it were brown, like if it was contaminated with soya sauce (we wonder if it wasn't from someone's previous dish...) we could not eat it! We only ate what was eatable and because we were so hungry and at that time everything else was closed. We were worried about food poisoning. And concerned about public health.
Atmosphere: The restaurant was completely empty and almost in the dark, a silence in the air worse than a graveyard, the most active beings in the restaurant were the fish inside the tank, if we don't count with the sick fish floating on the surface.
We had the worse experience ever, we wonder how this place is still open and we paied 70€!!. For sure we'll never go back to this restaurant. We extremely don't...
Read moreWe were visiting Nevers from Australia and wanted a night with different cuisine.
We were blown away by the staff at Le Mandarin who provided great service, who were very friendly and welcoming.
The restaurant was very clean, white table clothes on each table and the toilet facilities were also very clean.
We know that Chinese food is different in Europe (compared to Australia) but the food was tasty, fresh and good quality.
The team at Le Mandarin even offered to help get us back to our hotel.
We are very grateful and recommend this restaurant for visitors...
