We went there because the location was close to our hotel and we were tired after a day-long trip. There was no space inside, but we decided to stay. The male owner used gestures to indicate that there was space inside. We said we could sit outside. No one gave us utensils or water to start. I had a bottle of water with me that I hadn’t drunk and wanted to take back to the hotel. The female owner, who did not speak English, was really impolite, pointing to my water and saying something. I realized that maybe outside drinks were not welcome. I said I just wanted to take it back to the hotel, but it seemed like we couldn’t communicate. I just put the water down on the table. The food came fast, but I didn’t really like it. I hadn’t had Pad Thai before, but the one I had here was really sour. Overall, I was really disappointed as a visitor who was unable to...
Read moreVisited this place as it seemed quite good reading the reviews. We just wanted to try some of their side dishes as we had just eaten a full meal at another restaurant.
We asked for three side dishes (ha gao, 6 pieces of sushi and some pork rolls) but the waitress told us that each side dish had to be ordered with a main course??? On top of that, we couldn’t just order 6 pieces of sushi but had to order 18 pieces per person minimum??? I’m sorry but I’ve never experienced anything like this at any restaurant. Also it doesn’t state on the menu or anywhere in the restaurant that each side dish will need to be ordered with a main course or that you need to order a minimum of 18 pieces of sushi. Either the place is going bust and they want more money or they were just trying to take advantage of us. We decided not to...
Read moreWe were headed to Garibaldi for lunch but saw this place on the way so we peaked at the menu which looked decent enough. It also smelled incredible. So we cancelled dinner reservations that evening and decided to have a lazy night in at the hotel and ordered UberEATS delivery from here. We ordered the banh cuon, beef crispy egg noodles, shrimp tempura sushi, torched salmon sushi and duck. The banh cuon was ok but tasted a little off. Duck was dry. The crispy egg noodles was wrapped separately from the sauce (normal for this dish) but it smelled really off. We took a little bite to try and it was definitely not edible. I was scared to try the sushi after but hubby took a bite and it also tasted off, so for safety reasons, we ended up throwing the entire dinner in the garbage. Very...
