Nearly had a food poisoning!
Reviews were good enough to give it a try for dinner. Cozy-well decorated and the waiter (co-owner) was welcoming as we entered. The menu or suggestions were not that interesting or innovative as the reviews said but we ordered few starters and a grilled fish platter and the disaster started: frog legs were cold and my husband had to send them back to be reheated. The waiter unhappily took the plate without any apology and after few minutes he thumped the reheated plate on the table and left. I noticed the truffle chips were also cold but I didn’t dare to make a fuss The worst was the fish platter! As soon as I took a bite of the prawn I immediately ran to toilet to spit it out as I smelled a strong odour of ammoniac. I asked my husband if he could smell it, he said it smelled strongly. We called the waiter and he told us with a loud voice so everyone in the restaurant can hear him saying it was impossible that the prawn was off as everything was received fresh in the morning. Well he obviously wanted to put us into the position as if we were trying to find an excuse to get rid of the dish to not to pay for it. He told us he could remove the plate with a belittling manner. We asked him to take the prawn shell to the chef to smell the ammoniac so that they could avoid food poisoning other customers! Eventually I tried to eat the rest of the dish thinking it may just be the prawn but I should have accepted the offer to remove the dish. I made a big mistake as it was the worst fish platter I’ve ever tasted: half cooked squid another bad smelled fish accompanied by some bland purée I couldn’t eat it. I left everything nearly untouched. We asked for the bill immediately and payed for the total (minus 4€ taken off representing the price of a shrimp according to the waiter). They were very rude. I could let it go and avoid posting an angry comment on Google but having the such a rude service and a chef (other co-owner) who could not smell the odour of ammoniac, I wanted to post this review to warn people to be cautious with...

I primi INESISTENTI
I contorni: Patatine fritte. Purè . Patatine fritte con truffle. Purè con truffle .
E ripeto .
Read moreWe live part-time nearby in Eze Bord de Mer. Fabrik has become our "go-to" place for the quality of the service and the excellent cuisine. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating and the chef is always consistently very good. They even tolerate me well as I am just learning French in their relaxed, comfortable setting in Beaulieu sur Mer. Thank you for being so pleasantly bi-lingual, and, actually helping me up the French learning curve faster. We have always leave feeling glad we made the decision...
