Features gorgeous views down the bay (looking southward). The sea here is vividly clear, blue and placid. There's easy, uninterrupted open-water swimming along the top of bay. Also, there's variety in this beach in that the surface varies from fine sand to pebble areas. While underwater, the shallows vary from pool-like bottom through to seagrass supported small fish. Extensive boat exclusion zones. There are several showers located along the beach wall and also shower-toilet blocks at the roadside, as are several cafes. Parking is available but presents a summer challenge. Great views overlooking this beach and bay from a belvedere ("lookouts") on each of the roads...

Lovely beach! Villefranche was never in my itinerary but I just couldn’t help it after seeing its blue blue waters while passing by on the train. The waters are truly the most blue and clear in the 8 days I’ve been in the French Riviera. The beach is much more relaxed and spacious compared to other more popular beaches like the one in main Nice. The beach is sandy and you can choose to sit on the sand, at the stone ledge along the walkways or in the few beach chairs. Even though the temperature was about 16-17deg on google, the sun rays covered the beach and it felt warm enough to go into the water. The train station is also a very quick 5-7min walk away so it was...

If you look up picturesque in the dictionary, it’ll probably come up with a description of Villefranche’s beach, set in a cove and utterly serene. It’s the perfect place to while away an early morning or late summer evening.

If is always pancakes at other times and parking can be difficult, but so beautiful we always head here even though we have a beach outside our place in Nice. This one is just stunning.

Word of caution though, jelly fish had started to become an issue due to the over fishing of Tuna - my kids got stung as did many others - don’t know if they have rectified since the pandemic, but was...
