L'esterel — Restaurant in Nice

I had lunch here as I went by the previous reviews as I had been walking north of the old town. I arrived not long after 2pm and his price fix expired at 2pm but I had entrecôte, chips and salad with a 25cl carafe of red wine and all for a fraction less than 20 euro. I asked what the digestive was that people were having with their coffee thinking it was pasty’s but not cloudy - I was told it was Grappa and I was given a small shot to try - wow it had a bit of a kick. Got the beef tartare which was very good, large fries portion (very crispy and delicious), nice servers even though we didn’t speak very good French, and the restaurant was almost all locals and very cute. Prices were extremely great too, loved it and would definitely go back again. Great if you’re looking for a more authentic and local food...

Excellent restaurant - a real « restaurant du quartier » and full to the brim of local residents and workers. We arrived at 13h15 but the 11€50 plat du jour of filet mignon was already sold out.
