L'Horloge — Restaurant in Nice

My father and I visited this restaurant in may 2016 whilst the Monaco F1 GP was taking place. In had half a roast chicken with mash potato and ratatouille to accompany. The Chicken was of excellent quality, tasting free range and fresh. Cooked very well. Mashed potato very tasty. Perhaps the following would be the norm for French cooking but I found there was rather a lot of oil used to cook with. The skin of the chicken was a little greasy and the ratatouille was to. It was very tasty though. My father had pork ribs which he describes as "absolutely delicious". To accompany he had ratatouille and French fries. The French fries were double fried. We both had a drink, I had jack Daniels and coke (10 euros but 50ml of JD) my father had house white whine which he describes as "had better"

Overall experience was very good. Waiter was very helpful, he even fetched a big 700g piece of prime beef to show us the size whilst we were choosing what to order. If your in the area this place would make a nice choice for your...

LOCATION 8/10 : The restaurant is connected with HOTEL ASTON LA SCALA. It is located on a very busy street in NICE. We had our dinner inside (outside was very hot), but it has a reserved area for outside seating so you can enjoy your dinner

Service was OK. I tried the roasted Sea Bass which tasted really good. It came with a really tasty humus mixture and some strains of sweet, creamy sauce with deep fried small mushrooms. It also came with butter roasted aubergine (eggplant) which was fantastic, but I cannot help but be very disappointed with two things; 1) you only get 1 small piece of Sea Bass filet, not the whole fish (i.e. Both filets) - you'd expect to receive the whole fish since the price tag is at 28€, and 2) it came with a very soft piece of deep fried vegetables that only tasted of old oil.
