La Roquebrunoise – Restaurant Vue Mer et Château à Roquebrune-Cap-Martin — Restaurant in Nice

There's only a handful of places to eat in the town and they were either typical french or Italian. The main restaurant at Roquebrunoise has a very typical French menu, meat heavy main courses. We wanted some fish or something veggie friendly, but they happen to have a cafe area that is setup adjacent to the restaurant with seating in the car park. It had a small menu of pizza /lasagne /pasta at reasonable prices. The food there is really really good and this is the only reason I write this review; you must taste the pasta with tomato sauce (their take on arrabiata I think). The waiter joked 'And how the best pasta on the Mediterranean' but he wasn't wrong! There's a great chef in the kitchen and it turned out to be a great value, really tasty meal and was perfect alternative to a posh meal out, at a third of the price. If you're a family not looking to fork out hundreds in the other places in town, then come here. Waiter was bilingual which was really appreciated....

Unique! I walked from Menton to Vieux Village 22nd of June. I was fortunate enough to make reservation for one to this magnificient restaurant on the very day. This restaurant should always be fully booked! Eating out when travelling alone can be a little bit sad experience. NOT in this restaurant! The Waitress served me was super helpful, and friendly, even translating the whole menu, and charging my phone. I had a full menu (langoustine, duck and lemon tartin) and really loved it. Best dinner in years! This is much said, beeing dining in Paris 3Michelin star places the same year. Special thanks to the pianist! It’s not easy to play in a noisy atmosphere where large companies are dining. Chopin was great! Sheldom one hears so delicate playing of E flat Nocturne (Chopin himself prefered an upright piano). Incredible experience. We stayed nearby for a few days and kept coming back—the owner greeted us warmly each day. We had a lovely lunch and played backgammon one afternoon, which was such a nice touch. On our last night in France, just after getting engaged, we had dinner here overlooking the sea.
