I visited Maona yesterday with another couple, drawn in by the stunning Instagram advertisements and the promise of authentic Greek cuisine by the sea. While the location was indeed beautiful, sadly, that was the only highlight of our evening.
From the start, the experience felt off. There were more staff members than customers, which wouldn’t have been an issue if they had been productive.
The menu was extremely limited and vague, especially concerning the fish dishes, where prices and quantities were not specified. We ordered a lamb souvlaki dish priced at €80, supposedly meant to be shared. What arrived was frankly insulting—just five small pieces of lamb accompanied by many poorly prepared vegetables.
We also ordered a saganaki, which was mediocre at best, and an octopus dish that included only a third of a leg for €32—an absolute rip-off. The calamari plate was equally disappointing: four to five small pieces, again €32.
In total, we paid around €250 and left completely unsatisfied. So much so that we had to go elsewhere afterward to actually eat.
Overall, Maona seems to prioritize appearance and social media appeal over quality and value. I cannot recommend this place. A beautiful view is not enough to justify such a poor...
Read more4.5/5 . The rebirth of an iconic place in Monaco but this time located at the MC Beach Club. Following a warm welcome (the whole staff was great all evening long) we entered a fantastic atmosphere; it's elegant with a great color scheme and layout. I recommend to book the first service to enjoy the view and the sunset (and the music is not too loud). The food, taste wise and in presentation, is great. We all took different dishes to try and everybody liked it. We shared the baked Alaska for desert which was delicious. Price wise : 3 starters, 4 main + 2 sides, 1 desert, 1 bottle of wine (90€) water, coffee, and 2 cocktails, for a total of 500€. I read comments about the prices being expensive, it is not : it's Monaco and the MC Beach Club... "trendy" places in Eze, Beaulieu or St Tropez are the same prices and sometimes more expensive. Highly recommended and will...
Read moreExcellent service, great atmosphere, amazing music and vibe but ok food. The setting is great, service was impeccable and music was just great. Staff was encouraging people to dance and the music was so good that even if some people didn’t stand up they were dancing sitting at the table. Food was ok, saganaki was ok but not great and calamari were very rubbery. Kafta and steak were fine. Our mains arrived very late but the staff was coming with updates without us prompting them, apologising repeatedly, brought us drinks (they saw we were ordering before) again but on the house as an apology (we didn’t ask). At the end they didn’t charge us for some sides too - I didn’t ask for discount on the bill but it was a very nice touch. Would I come back? - yes for atmosphere and service but hope they will...
