I have not left stars for the food because I sadly didn’t get to try it. I’ve left stars for service and atmosphere.
I dislike leaving bad reviews but unfortunately it’s impossible not to in this situation, especially if it can help someone else not end up in a similar situation.
This place has excellent reviews and the sushi looks really good. Pricing is great and they have good lunch specials. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to eat here because the service was so slow and inconsiderate to dine in guests.
We arrived ~1pm, ordered by 1:05 and at 1:45 asked about our food. Ultimately we decided to ask to leave because we hadn’t received our food and it didn’t seem it was going to be ready for at least another 10-15 minutes. We watched at least 6 people come in and pick up take out orders, and 2 people walk in off the street, order in person and receive their food to take away within 5 minutes. The kitchen was clearly prioritizing other orders since we were only people in the downstairs of the restaurant
Some amount of wait is understandable, and I know managing dine in vs. take out is complex since I’ve worked in restaurants, but 40+ min is really brutal, especially for basic sushi (4 piece salmon avocado roll, 2 pieces of nigiri, 4 piece spicy tuna roll).
Maybe if the server had mentioned the delay/ it might take longer we would have been okay, but when we asked about the wait she said “sushi takes a while to make” …. And also suggested that because the carry out orders had called in, their meals would be made before. So, essentially there wasn’t an end to our wait in sight.
Usually I’d be willing to give a place a second chance, especially since it had such good reviews, but I won’t in this case because we leave the city.
I’m sorry we didn’t have as good of an experience as what’s represented here. It does seem better for other people or maybe at dinner time? :(
*update based on the restaurant’s reply, the food was not ready when we left. We didn’t have the chance to “accept it”. If it had actually been ready we would have of course stayed...

Despite this, we had to take the menu for ourselves and call the waitress to take our order after she ignored us since we sat down. Almost an hour... no sushi. We're sitting at the entrance at this point and it's getting uncomfortablely cold. We ask the waitress if we could move upstairs where it's warmer. All she says is "2 minutes" and walks away. More time passes, we sit patiently and wait for at least 15min... we ask again if we can please move upstairs where it's warmer and there are available seats. At this moment she turns aggressive towards my mother and causes a scene, shouting "2 minutes!, I told her 2 minutes!!!" to the other staff. I've never seen a grown women throw a tantrum like this and treat my mother so disrespectfully, not to mention a customer. I felt ashamed for her. Read morePretty nice place, tasty and good food. We tried sushi and poke bowls. All in all proper portions, fresh and tasty. The restaurant seems pretty new, so still in establishing phase. Service was not very good. Very friendly, but a slow and not experienced. We have asked for desert + ice tea + espresso.
