This is a really good little local restaurant, serving large portions of tasty, well-presented, unpretentious food at very reasonable prices. The lunchtime menu offers 3 substantial dishes for 12.5 euros, and a perfectly good house red at a fair price.
Think small town café-bistrot rather than Parisian restaurant (which it definitely isn't!). A Saturday evening couscous royal featured a huge portion of couscous, a great pot of vegetables, merguez sausage, lamb chop, chicken and a big brochette of good quality beef. 17.5 euros, and with a decent live band to boot. Wow!
OK - you'll struggle a bit if you have no French at all, but it's worth the effort if you can muster a few basic phrases. From the outside, it doesn't look much, but there is a separate dining room at the rear, and as long as you don't mind what can sometimes be a lively, noisy atmosphere, you should enjoy the experience as we have done...
