My third stay here for 11 nights in August 2023 and overall another enjoyable stay apart from one thing. ||When I checked in I was given room 3205 in the back building overlooking a lovely typical Paris street but the air-conditioning wasn’t working and it was hot in Paris in August but within an hour I was moved to another room 2205 one floor below which was fine and the air-conditioning at first appeared to work but never got the room cool. | |Now here is where the confusion started as I was told that the hotel was no longer air-conditioned but air-cooled or some similar term and it only came on if the air temperature was over a certain amount, 25C I think and it was a government rule to save energy due to the energy crisis but none of the other dozen or so hotel I stayed at in France over the previous three months seemed to have any restrictions with their air-conditioning. ||I did have a look at the hotels website and I can’t remember now what it actually said but it didn’t say air-conditioning but something similar to that and on my previous stays the air-conditioning worked the way it should.||Apart from that the property was as good as before with a spacious clean modern studio apartment with a good kitchen, big fridge, enough space and a comfortable bed once I took the protector off the mattress which just makes me sweat so much. The room has a safe, iron and small ironing board and there is a handy set of scales to weigh your luggage in for €1 in the lobby.||The location is fantastic a short walk to the Vincennes metro station where you can buy a day ticket for €8.45 for zones 1 & 2 which covers the vast majority of the areas in central Paris most tourists would want to visit. Vincennes is the start or end of metro line 1 which cuts through central Paris and ensures a seat on the train. ||The hotel has a small underground parking garage which I used on the night I arrived but was able to find free street parking for the next two nights as in this part of the city parking is free from 5pm to 9am the next morning which was great.|The staff as usual were fantastic.||Overall a pretty decent stay at a hotel I...
Read moreMy second stay at this fantastic property and I have booked again for August 2023. I have stayed at several Adagio properties in Paris and this has been the best so far. The location while a little outside the central part of Paris is great being in between two metro stops on line 1, which will get you to many of the main areas on Paris. One of the stations is Chateau du Vincennes where there is a manned ticket office and being the end station on this line you always get a seat which is great and Berault which is one from the end and has an escalator from the platform to the street which is great at the end of the day. Near the Berault station there are two decent sized grocery stores to get anything you may need back at the apartment.||Vincennes is a lovely area with a really nice local shopping area with some bigger supermarkets and local stores.||My room 1303 overlooked the main road but noise was never an issue due to the sound blocking windows. The room is modern and spotlessly clean with a good sized kitchenette with everything you will probably need. There is a reasonable amount of space in the room with the wall bed folded up but does get a little tight with it down.|The bathroom is big and modern and even in summer the heated towel rack is a nice thing to have.||The hotel has a laundry in the basement and there is a garage which I think was 15 Euro a night which I used for the first three nights of my stay until I returned my car.|The room has an entry hall that can be closed off from the main room to give some privacy if needed.||Really like this place and looking forward to my third stay in...
Read moreConvenient, well-priced accommodation. Has a decently appointed kitchenette with 2-3 sharp cooking knives (one is serrated for bread), cutting board plates (big and small), mugs, very small wine glasses, wine bottle/beer bottle opener, dish soap, dishwasher, dishwasher detergent, induction cooktop w 2 burners, electric kettle, coffee pod maker, microwave, medium size fridge (not mini fridge), towels, forks, spoons, knives, 1 lg bowl, pot, pan, and some other items. We didn't use the kitchenette bc there were so many restaurant options. This hotel also has a laundromat, parking garage, filtered water machine, offers a purchase for breakfast (didn't try), and helped us get a dress shirt washed & pressed. The location is great near 2 metro stops, a castle (chateaû Vincennes which was great and not busy), lots of awesome things to see (fresh markets, butchers, fish monger). Our highlights in the area were the Chateaû, FoodyVino wine cellar (affordable and fun), and Aarush (indian restaurant).
What I didn't like at Adagio Vincennes- the elevator was out in our tower for 2 days so we had to climb 3 flights w luggage and on the daily. The shower looked dirty/stained. The room's temp could not be controlled. I kept trying to just power off the heater and it kept turning back on. These issues wouldn't stop me fr recommending this hotel but hope management would improve upon...
