SHAAN'S PAJI — Restaurant in Nogent-sur-Marne

We ate here last night, and after reading all the great reviews, I have to sadly say we were so so disappointed. I love Indian food. I probably couldn't survive a month without it, and even when I travel I eat at a local Indian at least once during my stay, no matter what country I'm in. And I'm sorry to say I've never had any curry that was so tasteless. There was no depth of taste, no real flavour of spices, nothing. I ate my lamb Madras with not really knowing of what I'm eating. The sauce was just totally blunt, and the lamb was dry and overcooked, even tasting more like pork. Also, it was not spicy at all. The chicken tikka was a bit better (chicken was cooked well), but the sauce still lacking any taste depth. It was all just meh (except the naan, the garlic naan was nice). Also the serving was really really small, like a medium portion size, two spoons each between two of us (which in the end wasn't necessarily a bad thing because of mentioned above). Maybe it's because we came in late, and they just threw something together for us really quickly. It was sad and disappointing. The waiter was however nice, and we do appreciate they gave us something to eat at half past 10pm. But as far as the food goes, it was money wasted and I hope I'll never experience food like this in any Indian...

I stumbled across Shaan's Paji after a stroll along the river. What a great discovery! After reviewing the assortment of vegetarian and meat dishes I worked my way down to Lamb Samossa, Butter Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo, and Cheese/Garlic Nan. Best restaurant I have ever visited in whole France. The people there are so welcoming and polite. The taste of the food is amazing. Authentic Punjabi food !! We went there with our baby and they catered to all our needs for baby. We wanted a take away for our return- journey at 10am, so they made sure the food was ready and kept it simple considering baby’s taste.

Kudos to you guys! Hope to visit...
