Absolutely top notch food! The hamburger was juicy and cooked to perfection, the Comte cheese complimented the burger perfectly with the sauce. The fries are a tiny bit greasy for my liking but I suppose with triple cooked fries this is to be expected… Service could have been better.. we sat for 15 minutes whilst several people walked past us and also saw we were waiting… eventually a kind waitress served us and we received our orders fairly quick. This is more of a locals restaurant so if you are English like we are please be aware of this. There was no English translated menu which wasn’t an issue as we know a little French but for others this could be an issue, they may have an English menu behind the bar or upon request but obviously we had waited long enough. All in all food was good, service was slow and the atmosphere was mixed. There is also only one toilet which has a large queue all the time, I have a weak bladder and suffer with ibs so this was very stressful.

Always enjoy a visit to La Guinguette when in Brantone. I had booked weeks before as I knew what date we were visiting and know its always busy, especially on a sunny weekend. We had a great table overlooking the river. Plenty of choice on the menu. We had the €24 set menu with an entrcote steak with blue cheese sauce for the main and cafe gourmand for dessert. Food was excellent as always and really enjoyed the selection on the dessert creme brulee, chocolate fondant cake, panna cotta, lemon tart. Had a bottle of red wine (Chinon) which was also delicious. We also had our dog with us which was nice that he was allowed in and given a bowl of water.

Venu y manger le 24 avril 2023. Le restaurant de l’extérieur ne paye pas de mine mais attention ce n’est qu’une façade préparez vous à rentrer dans le plus beau restaurant que j’ai pu voir la terrasse est magnifique même si le temps nous permettez pas d’y aller surtout avec 2enfants mais cela ne retire pas le charme de l’établissement, la serveuse présente étais très agréable et à l’écoute nous a proposez un coussin d’elle même pour notre fille pour quel sois plus à l’aise à table. Côté cuisine merci au chef cuisto qui a fait comme j’aime la cuisson à point même si ce n’est pas le plus simple pour une viande rouge les repas des enfants des frites et un steack haché du boucher (que j’ai goûter et qui étais très bon) un verre de rouge pour ma viande qui étais servi juste avant d’avoir mon assiette ce qui deviens rare donc merci encore, l’hamburger de Mme étais très bon et très complet on est reparti bien remplis ^^ et pour le dessert le café gourmand les desserts étais très bon nous avons très apprécié. Tout ça pour dire que j’aimerais payer 88€ à chaque restaurant pour l’apéritif pour 2, 2 plat 2 menu enfant un verre de rouge et 2 café gourmand. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermer cuisine nickel service nickel et prix nickel à mes yeux. Merci à toute l’équipe au plaisir de revenir

Unfortunately, la Guingutte has changed hands. It used to be fabulous & the previous owner & staff were so hospitable. Even if we hadn’t booked, would always try & find us a nice table and the service & food used to be very good! Sadly, my husband & I tried to go there Sunday evening. The woman at the bar was very offhand & dismissive when we said we hadn’t been able to book online. She reluctantly stuck us on a table in the mud away from everyone else. Then one of the waiters started serving other people that had arrived after us & completely ignored us!! Diabolical. Not going back! Definitely not like it used to be & 100% would not recommend!
