Lovely service and a modern feel

It is our first visit to Orleans and after a horrible drive through Paris it had to be better and it was.  parking waseasy and cheap and we found everybody very friendly.

This restaurant is very modern and has a nice buzz.  the staff are quite hip and fun.  there is a mix of quite expensive starters and great value main courses.  Quite an interesting menu and less traditional than we were expecting with lots of modern ingredients in the mix.

Beth's  main course or pork was rather bland but the rest of the food was excellent  Having said that it was only 15 € which is great value.. The wine which was suggested to us was excellent.  Overall it was good rather than great and we did put 5 stars to start with but decided in the end only 4.  We might try it in the future if we come back this way but will probably try somewhere else.  It was fun though and...

The staff and location are lovely, we sat outside and as the ratings are so good, it was buzzy with a good atmosphere. The hostess speaks excellent English and is very accommodating however sadly, the food is pretty dire. Everything has clearly been pre-prepared and is simply warmed a little before coming to the table. The bread is really poor, considering we are in France it was a real shame as good bread is so available here. The chicken supreme was tough, the filet-mignon was ok however the chorizo was the sort that comes pre-sliced in a pack as opposed to proper chorizo sausage which wasn’t very pleasant. Overall, the food is really really basic. Grainy, stringy avocado, un-seasoned cream sauces, the sort of thing a teenager could prepare and definitely not made to order. Nous avons passé le dîner de la ST Valentin dans cet établissement en pensant passer un agréable moment. Le restaurant était pratiquement complet. Arrivés vers 20H, nous avons commencé par demander la carte des vins et là, ça commençait mal, il n'y avait plus le vin que l'on souhaitait. Après avoir attendu un peu , nous avons enfin été servi :amuse bouche et vin. Le serveur nous a pris notre commande (menu à 54€ sans vin). Puis, nous avons patienté longtemps et avons subi l'agacement et les cris de la propriétaire du resto contre ses serveurs et contre la vitesse d'envoi des plats. Les plats une fois servis, repartaient directement car trop froids. Puis au but d'1H30-2h , certains couples n'ayant mangé que l'entrée sont partis ... dépités. Effectivement, nous aussi, nous avons eu notre entrée puis nous avons attendu énormément pour avoir le plat de résistance qui s'est avéré froid et pour le quasi de veau trop cuit, les noix de St Jacques froides ... bref un désastre! On a demandé à réchauffer mais pas mieux. Puis encore de l'attente .... fatigués, nous avons fini par partir sans avoir ni le fromage ni le dessert, il était 22H40 !!!. On nous a proposé un doggy bag pour le dessert, emballé n'importe comment dans un petit morceau d'aluminium chiffonné et entouré de cellophane. Aucun geste de la part des gérants au moment de l'addition!

Nous avons appris que le chef cuisinier pratiquait ce métier depuis peu et n'était pas habitué à gérer autant couverts quasi sans personnel. Ce genre de problèmes (plats froids etc....) est monnaie courante à priori. Le serveur était très professionnel et aimable pourtant. Bravo! Le problème ne vient pas de là.
