L'Esplanade — Restaurant in Périgueux

It's located in a charming square in the heart of the town's medieval center. They offer two different set menus (€19 and €30) for lunch, each with a nice variety of very good dishes. We had lamb and duck. The kids menu is also very good. My kids (aged 4&6) had two dishes from the carte, and they said they were delicious (shrimp and octopus). The service was excellent and really accommodating to people who don't speak french. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. In my opinion, it's the best spot for lunch or dinner after a day spent...

We visited with 2 persons. We were inirially welcomed warmly. But unfortunately the food was really disappointing. The fois gras had no taste and the canard (duck) was served cold, which was also tasteless. The squid was ok, mainly oily. The canard went back to the kitchen, but after a few minutes the same plate came back to us after a quick warm up. The owner knew about the cold canard, but responded with a joke and did not make an apology or any offer. Our advise....go to another...

Superb restaurant. Adults had the 30 euro menu, teenagers a meal from a la carte and the 10 year old the childa menu and all were full. Child's menu chicken nuggets were home made and large, teenage son said best burger on holiday so far and the set menu was delicious. Would very highly recommend. Came to approx 28 euro a head on average for 2 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 child...
