Really, the worst pizza I've ever been served. Bottom has nothing to do with a fresh made pizza. Probably some kind of prefab pizza bottom, on which the (overload of) cheese and other ingredients were heated (in a microwave?!). Guess just warmed/heated, but definitely NOT BAKED! When we were just seated at our table, I ordered a beer, which was only served half an hour later, after I had reminded the waitress I was still waiting on my beer. I ordered a Moretti, but the beer I got was a Heineken (the only other draft beer on the menu, being a 0.0%). When I asked about this, she answered that this was correct; they serve the Moretti beer in a Heineken glass.... My wife ordered a vegetarian risotto, but was served a risotto with shrimps. She didn't want to complain, but wasn't pleased. The risotto was okay though. Weird that the risotto was served in a bowl so huge that if she would have fallen into it, she would never have been able to climb out of it...

The owner and his wonderful staff graciously present Italian dishes in a nice, friendly, and inviting setting. The pasta dishes are generous and delightful. Their pizzas are very good as well. The pizza is delicate (light as air), crisp, flavorful, and delicious. Their creative, yet authentic, pizzas are made with loving attention and excellent ingredients (you can taste the freshness and quality). Pizzeria les Coupoles gave me a beautiful evening...Excellent job. "Merci Beaucoup Chef...C'était délicieux". Mel
((The name "les Coupoles"?...I did not inquire, but if I had to guess, it's in honor of Cathedral Saint Front's architectural domes. Which is in plain view and directly across the street from the restaurant. But that's just MY personal educated guess))
A "Best of Périgueux" Selection ...
Read moreTerrible. We returned to this restaurant after an absence of 2 years because we had great memories of good food, especially the lasagne, my husbands choice. He ordered it with great expectation and it was utterly terrible, it could not be picked up with a fork, looked disgusting and needed a spoon to eat it, he abandoned the dish. I had fish of the day, glowingly described on the menu and I looked forward to it, was not an inexpensive choice, the small piece of fish was fine but the rest of the dish defied description, all sloppy, white with no taste, and I abandoned that. We looked around, this was market day and almost everyone was eating pizza and there you have it. This restaurant has turned into a pizzaria and should be described as such going forward and definitely not as a Trattoria, what a really, really, big...
