Do not be put off that you hear so many languages being spoken other than French in this restaurant, and especially that the sweet service staff makes the real effort to jump in and make you feel at ease and speak your language. This place is not a tourist trap and gives you real value for money. It has become a place for us Parisians to bring friends visiting from elsewhere...do you have any idea how hard it is to find authentic traditional French food such as foie gras or boeuf bourguignon in Paris these days? I come here about once or twice a year depending on how many picky New York friends have decided to disembark. The copper pot vegetarian "cocotte de legumes de saison" has saved many an evening. I would not remove a star at all after my last meal here. But I do wish
Gotta agree with the other reviews, the boeuf bourguignon, was the best I've ever had...and I've made it myself...and I'm a good cook.
My wife had the above, I had the steak. I ordered it medium...in my mind it was rare. Maybe in Europe the gamut of rare to well done is different? It came with mixed vegetables. Asparagus, new potatoes, some sort of green stemmy/leafy thing, and mashed potatoes.
The mashed are wonderful, but to make it completely different than the boeuf bourguignon I would say, deep six the mashed, triple down on the asparagus, and add a few more new potatoes. Serve it with a gravy boat of extra sauce.

They know their wine and their craft, but can also be quirky and funny without being familiar.
This place is a couple of blocks off an area just covered with other eating establishments. You'll be glad you walked the...
Read moreWe made a reservation for 6 (2 kids) for 7pm. We arrived and ordered one starter and 5 main dishes. The starter was brought to the table in no time and we didn't want to finish it all, so we asked to leave it on the table. One hour and 40 minutes later, our main dishes were still not served. Meanwhile, others who came in after us already ate and paid their bill. When we asked the waitress, she said she believed we were still working on the starter so she didn't put in the order for our main dishes to the kitchen. We were so upset. She said there was nothing she could do, that we would have to wait for our food. We told her we would only pay for what's on the table and leave. Then, she said she would ask the kitchen. Our food was on the table within 5 minutes. I mean, if you need us to tell you when to bring in the main dishes, you could at least have the courtesy to tell us that and not make us wait that long. We had dined at other restaurant in Paris and never had...
