A couple of weeks ago, we were visiting Paris and staying in the neighbourhood. We chose this restaurant simply because it was conveniently close to our hotel — and what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be!
The decor is warm and cosy, creating a relaxed and charming atmosphere that instantly made us feel welcome. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. We were greeted with a smile, and to our delight, our lovely young waitress spoke excellent English. She patiently translated the entire menu for us, explaining each dish in detail — such a kind and thoughtful gesture that we truly appreciated.
She made excellent recommendations, including wine pairings, and encouraged us to try some traditional French dishes we might have otherwise hesitated to order. One standout was the coeur de ris de veau — the veal sweetbreads (the pancreas, I think? Still not entirely sure what part of the animal I ate!) — and it was absolutely incredible. Genuinely the best dish I had during my entire stay in France!
Other highlights included the lobster ravioli, foie gras, and duck breast — all beautifully prepared and full of flavour. And don’t even think about skipping dessert! The floating island and the strawberry tart were divine.
It’s such a shame we only discovered this gem on our last night in Paris — otherwise, I think we would have come back every evening! Huge thanks to the whole team for such a memorable...
Read moreWe were visiting Paris from Canada. We have only praise for this authentic bistro. It is the essence of a great Parisian Bistro-the staff care, they are kind and attentive; the food is delicious, the ambience quiet and welcoming. Their focus on making everything in house and using local produce makes for memorable meals. Their bread should come with a warning "consumption may be addictive". We were so impressed after the first night we went back next night for round 2...and were equally impressed!
Consider the trout tartar (fresh and light) as an entree and the lobster salad as a world class main! The heirloom tomatoes with Buratta also makes a great entree. For dessert try Ile Flottante-a light and impossibly elevated confection.

We had to order twice because the wait staff somehow forgot to place our order. They continuously tried to push a wine menu on us, asking over four times in the first hour if we would be ordering wine. They picked up and put back down the wine list several times. We only were allowed to order after an hour seated. Our food then took over an hour to arrive. Immediately after our food arrived we were told we had to leave soon for another table coming. Food itself was okay, and not hot. I rarely leave a poor review, but this was an experience that was beyond the usual sense you would chalk up to...
