Savy Savy — Restaurant in Paris

Ordered a chicken bahn mi and beef pho. Pho was good and it’s everything I had been craving for. Broth was beefy but sweet and the noodles were cooked to the right doneness. The Banh Mi however was a big disappointment, had high hopes for it considering Paris is pretty well known to have authentic Vietnamese food. The baguette was filled with what seems like soy sauce stewed chicken that is honestly quite heavy on the ginger flavour. There was a bit of pickled carrots and radish as well but where is the coriander and other fresh herbs? Where is the pate??? And no Mayo???

What a find! Went there after touring the Pere Lachaise cemetery. The space is bright, clean, and modern. The service was kind and prompt. The 1 cook and 1 server skillfully executed lunch service for around 30 guests. The food was excellent, some of the best pho broth I've ever had. The rice bowl and egg rolls were also very good. Nous nous installons pour déjeuner un midi, le restaurant est animé mais rien d’anormal. Lorsque le serveur arrive pour prendre la commande, mon compagnon choisit de commander les plats en vietnamien (dans un restaurant… de spécialités vietnamiennes, avec les intitulés écrits également en vietnamien sur la carte). Le serveur, visiblement débordé selon ses propres mots, rétorque de manière sèche et sans professionnalisme qu’il « ne comprend pas » et exige que nous commandions en français.

Soit, nous aurions pu simplement passer en français. Mais la façon de répondre, expédiée et désagréable, donnait clairement l’impression qu’il n’avait pas plus de trente secondes à consacrer à chaque table. Cette tension, au lieu d’être gérée en interne, a été projetée sur les clients, ce qui est regrettable.

Face à cet accueil peu respectueux et à ce manque de tact, nous avons préféré ne pas poursuivre l’expérience et sommes partis avant même de goûter la...
