Mr & Mrs M — Restaurant in Pau

Complete disaster to book for Valentines Day. When I made the booking the lady on the phone was pleasant enough but requested for 50% deposit. It was fine for me - but quite unusual for restaurants in Pau. I explained that I travel and cant make a deposit straight away. I got hold up on my trip and when I go to pay the deposit (which is actually quite complicated as the restaurant in the part of Pau where its difficult to get parking in the evening). The first reaction I get from the reception lady and that they are full for the Valentines Day. I explain that I already booked and I am here to pay the deposit. The same response - we are fully booked. The the reception lady gets quite accusive in saying that she tried to call but I did not answer. Which was not the case - I did not receive any calls nor messages from the restaurant. She does not offer to check if she made a mistake when she recorded my phone number - the only message is "we are full sorry". No offer to take a booking for another day. The only thing to do is to walk away. A future...

Overall, this is a really nice restaurant and we enjoyed our experience. The owner was very nice and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere - the tables are spaced apart nicely and it looks lovely. The food overall was nice - we really enjoyed our entrees, particularly the Tom Kha Kai soup. The mains were also nice, we very much enjoyed Le dos de lieu noir. We found that Le filet de veau was slightly over medium rare (our preference) which slightly detracted from our enjoyment of it. We also very much enjoyed the desserts. Overall we found that the value for money was perhaps not the greatest we experienced in Pau, with the wines and the food, but we still enjoyed...

I have driven pass this place many times and kept on saying: we need to try, it looks promising from the outside.

So finally we did, no expectations… call it a leap of faith ( yes I played assassin creed back in the days).

What a nice and refreshing surprise this has been for the Pau restaurant scene! Bright flavors, well executed dishes, and with a fine touches of an Asian hint! I just loved it.

The place deco is nice and inviting, an Emily is such a great host! Definitely one to try out and I will for sure be coming back.

Not sure how often the menu changes, we tried almost everything in it and it was all on...
