La Cala — Restaurant in Perpignan

Living in Canet has his great advantages that in the summer season, one can choose from many restaurants/ Beach Clubs etc... One Club you will want to go back to over and over is La Cala Beach Club and what it offers, I was actually looking forward to the season to go back . I love to go with husband, family and friends knowing that they will be impressed by the place, the atmosphere is absolutely incroyable, the decor is so warm, cozy and elegant. A huge task for the owner as they only have a short time window to instal their club et even shorter time to take them down.... La Cala has real lemon trees (lemon for great drinks ) along the bar where Xavier excels at making his fabulous cocktails (Mojito with Ginger was a new one for me, exceptional taste) , live flower beds all throughout, a beautiful piano in the lobby, bamboo always clean and of a rustic look, lamp shades that at night give the romantic look of the place. One other very important point , the restroom are not only Spotless, they are so nicely decorated as well, for a beach club that is a HUGE plus on my list. Now the food, oh lord the food is absolutely out of this world, yesterday I brought a Friend for lunch, we first shared an appetizer that honestly would be a lot for one person, a Pain brioché de notre Boulanger, filled with Araignée de mer, beurre noisette, mayonnaise combawa, agrumes et condiments. so gorgeously decorated with small colorful season flowers (yes they are edible & good) This is definitely a must try, the brioche melts in your mouth, the inside is well filled with pieces of crab meat seasoned in sweet savory flavors. absolutely delicious. To follow, my friend ordered a "like a Caesar" well, it is more than just a Caesar, First the portion is truly generous the chicken is lightly crispy, you don't get you Romain but very fresh Baby Green, some light boiled egg, crispy onions and if you heart desires, the chef will even sprinkle some small bacon chips . I chose the "Fondant de maigre rôti" a white fish grilled to perfection resting on a bed of celery puree and fresh seasonal veggies in strings, so succulent that you will leave your plate spotless, Now one fact in my opinion that can make or break any business is the customer service, well you are definitely going to be impressed by the genuine attention you will receive when going to La Cala. First with Xavier (the drink Genie), his smile will make you want to try one of his many cocktails, he has a great sense of humor and it is evident that he likes what he does. Secondly our adorable server, Thomas. Thomas welcomes his customers with a warm & genuine hello, right away you will know that your lunch or dinner will be wonderful and that you will be taking care with the most professional and personal attention. Thomas knows the restaurant menu to the T and will answer clearly any question you may have. This is what makes the difference between a good business to a Great Business, employes like Xavier and Thomas make customers return year after year. I need to mention the Chef that I haven't had the honor to thank yet but I hope I can before the season is over. His/her food is the most deliciously prepared, the presentation of each plate is exquisite , it is evident that food is his/her is a love affair. A beautiful lunch with my wife. An amazing setting with the Mediterranean in front of you. So much style with the decor of the restaurant and even more so on the plates. Each dish was beautifully presented from the elegant tapas starters, to the divine main courses with touches of delicate spices and citrus and a delicious raspberry macaron to finish. Of course natural and biodynamic wines are a must. Together with an impressive cocktail selection with and without alcohol. I can’t wait...

Ce samedi nous sommes allés dîner à la Cala et ce fut vraiment un moment inoubliable ! En effet, les samedis en été ont lieu des dîner-spectacles sur le thème de Cuba. Nous avons découvert un spectacle d'une qualité rare. Un grand bravo à l'équipe cubaine ainsi qu'à la productrice du spectacle qui fait partie des artistes dansant sur la scène. Le spectacle fut vraiment incroyable avec plusieurs scènes, à chaque fois avec des costumes différents, le tout retraçant l'histoire de Cuba. De plus, à l'occasion de ces samedis soir particuliers, le menu proposé est un menu cubain avec tapas, plats et desserts typiques de l'île préparé par un grand chef cuisinier d'une rare compétence œuvrant sur place depuis l'an passé, bref ce fût une soirée digne des plus grands cabarets, cuisine gastronomique et exotique en plus. De plus l'emplacement sur lequel est situé ce restaurant rajoute une vraie note de magie et de charme. En effet il est installé en plein sur l'immense plage de sable blanc de Canet avec la mer en trame de fond. Nous avons hâte de revenir pour assister à leur prochain spectacle l'été prochain!
