La Galiote — Restaurant in Perpignan

Fantastic little place that is willing to serve you after the strict and ridiculous 12-2pm french lunch schedule. When tourists visit are not used to this early lunch times and sometimes it is frustrating. This place took a chance on us and we loved it as the food was excellent and plentiful. Prices are also very good and fair. La Carte has plenty of plates for all tastes and all we tried was good. I completely recommend this place for three reasons. 1. Excellent and fast service with a smile. 2. Great food and same quality as the beach restaurants across at half the price. 3. Excellent food, you’ll need to make a reservation for a Saturday night. Nice restaurant on the promenade at canet plage. We enjoyed a dinner while on a long weekend. Nice ambiance, excellent food. Not so cheap but you get what you pay for. I would have given 5 stars but was a bit disappointed on two counts. The restaurant was pretty busy this Saturday night and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. We ended up with a long wait for our main courses. In the menu we had the salad with goat cheese and for our mains we had a dorade fish and tuna.

The portions where perfect. The tuna steak was very fresh and raw on the inside as it should be. On the side of the tuna there was a mix of wokked greens in a curry sauce. I must say this was the best food we've had in a long time and we'll definitely return when we're around. The staff was also very accommodating with the fact that we had brought a baby with us.
