La Friterie Saintannaise — Restaurant in Pointe-à-Pitre

I love the food, but I love the hospitality even more. The young woman working up front was so kind. I do not speak French, but I try to speak what I know as I am a tourist visiting a French-speaking land; however, she tried so hard to communicate with me in English. Very friendly and helpful. She is also a beautiful woman. Food was worth the price and very tasty.

My first visit, I ordered ribs. My second visit, I ordered the half chicken. I preferred the ribs, but both were good. I don't know what seasoning they put on the fries, but I love them.

We had a wonderful dining experience here! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. Our server didn’t speak English very well, but that didn’t stop them from going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were patient, kind, and did everything they could to ensure we were comfortable, especially with my parents. Their effort truly made the experience special. We left not only full, but with smiles on our faces....

This is a great place if you are hungry for simple grilled food and a true Guadeloupe experience. The frites are definitely the highlight. The owner even gave me more after looking at my plate and saying that was not enough! The grilled pork chop was okay but a little on the dry side. This seems to be the place for dine-in and takeout among the locals. A definite stop on your food itinerary for basic and local fare. And good for...
