Crêperie la marine — Restaurant in Pontivy

Excellent views, perhaps the best in town. Food good, though a little pricey - not surprising given the position of the restaurant but worth being aware that you’ll pay more for less here, than elsewhere in town.

Service was not great for us. Staff seemed very rushed and unhappy despite the restaurant not being overly busy during our visit, and they certainly ignored us several times (even so far as openly dismissing and walking away from a polite « excusez-moi » when attempting to ask, again, for one of the waitresses to bring our daughter’s ice cream). Other tables with young children (we had a thirteen, an eleven and a three year old with us) also seemed to be waiting particularly long times for service. Main courses arrived reasonably timely, but after a very long wait to order more drinks and some desserts, we were finally served some nice crêpes (though not all four at the same time) but the single boule of vanilla ice cream for our youngest never arrived. A small thing really, but seemed typical of the general attitude towards us. Hopefully not their usual approach to family groups, although two other families sitting near us also seemed to be left waiting an awfully long time while other tables were being attended to...

I have absolutely no idea how this restaurant has 4.3. We arrived at noon as a group of 4 (2 children 2 adults) . Asked for a table of 11. The waitress said no the kitchen won’t manage 11 people. I said ok so we will sit at different tables. She said no then we have to go around each table. I said well if you can’t manage it doesnt matter, we will order at different times, can you just sit us now as a 4. She said there is no need to be rude!? I wasn’t. Then she sat us down and ignored us to order anything. Sat 2 other tables and took their order and drinks. We had a toddler and 4 year old who are grumpy and hungry by now. The rest of our group came as a 7. They refused to seat them together outside??? And refused them to split their table? They left and we got up and left too. Horrendously rude staff. So unprofessional and unaccommodating. We went up the road and had a lovely dinner as a group of 11....

Heavily biased towards crepes. Food was good, excellent fresh salad especially. Service mixed, the first time a young girl served us pleasantly and the second time the older waitress tended to talk to the French customers whilst serving us - a bit annoying. Nice to sit outside with splendid buffed of the castle, on what were hot evenings....
