Au Bureau - Pub et Brasserie — Restaurant in Rouen

We went 2 times. The first night we went was on a Tuesday. We seated inside and were welcomed with a smile and they tried to help us in English. If we had any questions we could ask. The night after that we went back but we had a totally different experience. The girl doing the service outside was just a rude and uninterested person. We got our fingerfood first and had to wait for 30 minutes to get our drinks because she forgot. We said that we were here to eat and were gonna eat a small bite with a drink and eat a main menu after that. When our fingerfood was done she came back (we had just gotten our drinks and we already finished our fingerfood) and asked for a payment. Was there in a party of 4. Service was awful. After waving at disinterested staff for 5 minutes to get their attention, I resorted to having to stand up and call out if anyone could offer us any assistance. That did get a response but not really an ideal approach. The food was lukewarm at best. The frites were cold to lukewarm. The steak was inedible and had to be sent back. We were set to have desserts but we decided that this place had had enough of our hard earned cash and didn’t deserve any more. I can’t believe that a restaurant that holds out so much promise in the way that it is presented is so poorly run that it forgets that their customers - all of them - deserve a decent quality of service for the high prices that they charge. I would give it 4 stars for drinks (reasonable, delicious and came quickly) and for the amazing view. Nice place to bring kids as they have high chairs and a kid area inside. The ambience is a nice pub vibe with tvs blaring futbol. But the food was terrible!! I would give it 0 stars if I could. I'm pretty sure the waitress tried to warn us but didn't understand in the broken English/french we spoke. The cold finger foods we got for 17 euro were an assortment of fried food of old oil. We should of ran then, but didn't. The ceasar was over dressed with wilty lettuce and the burger was drenched in some orange sauce. The prices are outrageous for the quality of food. We could have had a better meal at Burger King for 1/5...
