Le Petit Bar Cocktails — Restaurant in Rouen

What a lovely place this is. Run, don't walk, to check it out.

For starters the decor is wonderful. It's very atmospheric and I love the well thought through details like the bag hooks and power sockets under the tables. Then there's the service. The guy behind the bar (the owner I guess) is the genuine article of a 'bar man'. He really strives to make your stay pleasant and satisfying. And finally - but most importantly: he makes such wonderful cocktails! If you're anywhere in the vincinity of Rouen, make a detour for his self created Nilgiris gin-based cocktail. It's amazing! (Of course he's got other beverages than cocktails, and although we didn't have any, the plate of cold cuts and cheese looked delicious as well).

It's too bad we only discovered this place on our last night. When - not if - we return to lovely Normandy we'll make it a point to come back to The Petit...

" SANK ROO DAM YET ".

These are the four key words, while in ROUEN, to easily make your way to this cocktail bar. " Le Petit Bar ", as the name suggests it, is a small spot located just off St.Bartelemy's Place and St. Maclou Church. There, in a Speakeasylike atmosphere, you will be greeted by Julien and his assistant.

Seat on a high stool facing the bar counter or nest yourself in the warmth of the cosy alcove with low tables.

Whether you like it shaken or stirred, straight up or on the rocks you will find a drink to suit your taste.

Julien is a true mixologist, and, as such, he is creating new concoctions, to satisfy all tastebuds .

If you prefer to " stick " to your classics, no worry, as Julien perfectly masters pre, as well as post prohibition short drinks. So...cheers to...

This bar was simply such a lucky find and it ended up being one of our favourite places we have visited in Rouen!!! We loved the style of the menu but most importantly of course, the cocktails!!! It was simply a taste explosion for the 4 different ones we tried and the prices were completely fair for the amazing quality! Have some little snacks to go along and the barman being an absolutely sweetheart, I would go back to Rouen to just have a drink there again!! Don't miss out on this one if you have to...
