Le rajasthan — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

Not quite what Brits would expect from an Indian restaurant. No poppadoms on offer and food came ready plated with rice. Not particularly spicy (although we expected that) but flavoursome all the same. Quite entertained watching the staff preparing then eating their own dinner — a whole roast chicken, salad and lassi (you can see right into the kitchen, the waiter sitting on on the the food preparation surfaces was a highlight!) Update on our most recent visit. It's basically the same and still good. The spice level is not as hot as you'd get in the UK but possibly too hot for the French palette.

The menu is a weird mix of Anglo-Indian and French, but put that aside because the food is very good and the best Indian I've had for a long while.

Main course was good and a generous serving. The desserts were excellent too.

Will go again, even if for a takeaway.

Walked a leisurely pleasant 20 mins from Gare St Malo to this Indian restaurant. Was not disappointed. Ordered the most spicy of their briyani chicken and aubergine dishes. Add a garlic naan and a red wine to go with the spicy meal. Excellent dinner we had. For only €48. Will go again for a change of cuisine in France. Hospitable 2nd generation restaurant owner.
