Several menu items were unavailable (understandable since it’s meant to be fresh and locally-sourced). Service was questionable: after we placed our order it was maybe 15 minutes before we even got our drinks, and there were at most 10 covers at the time. A mound of smoked salmon was absolutely unexceptional, of the same quality as what you’d find in a supermarket, with a desultory squeeze of lemon and buried in capers, no other seasoning. Cold sardines were small and rather sad-looking on their plates of oil with a shower of onion. No condiments, as if they don’t trust you to season your food right. Took quite a while to bring out bread (the only thing accompanying the fish) and when they did it was stale. Given the prices (nearly €40 before drinks for 3 small dishes) the quality was not great. But the people who run the place are even better - some of the nicest, most welcoming people it's ever been my pleasure to meet. This place is not a restaurant in my view. It's more like a tapas place where you go with friends and have a few small dishes, which is fine but we were expecting something else.
