Castelbrac Hôtel & Spa — Hotel in Saint-Malo

There are not enough superlatives to describe our stay at Castelbrac. We enjoyed absolutely everything. We stayed in the Prestige Suite and appreciated the space and the ever changing view of the tides coming in and out as well as the activity in the harbor. It seems that every child in town learns to sail and this was most fun to watch. The room was comfortable and quiet. The meals we had at the hotel, a light dinner and breakfasts, were enjoyable. We also had delicious cocktails on the balcony of the salon. The best part of our entire trip to France was our boat trip on their private yacht. The captain was knowledgeable and we were able to see the beauty of the nearby cliffs and the area from the water. We had a great time and would visit again in a heartbeat. We enjoyed walking along the cliff walk that winds around the Dinard waterfront, finding sea glass and shells on the beach, walking through the town to get ice cream and had a delicious dinner at a nearby restaurant. We wanted a low key place to stay and both Dinard and Castelbrac were perfection. In fact, unpretentious and relaxing would be a great way to describe them both. The only regret was that we did not stay there longer. Ah, next time. Thank you for making my significant birthday celebration so special. I appreciated all of the delightful treats and we look forward to returning sometime...

This is just a stunning hotel – location is amazing, décor tasteful and food exceptional. |On a short road trip to the Loire valley we decided rather than immediately hitting the motorway from the St Malo ferry we would explore the local area and are so pleased that we found this boutique hotel for an overnight stay. |Room 5 had great views of the harbour area and as south facing we could enjoy a bottle of wine on a generous balcony watching the world go by. Rooms beautifully appointed and look to have been very recently renovated with on trend black bathroom fittings, beautiful linen and contemporary furniture.|Following morning breakfast is served in the restaurant overlooking the sea and had an excellent choice of fresh produce. Spa is perhaps a little over stated as basically offer facials or a body massage however facial treatment was excellent and reasonably priced. |Previous comments mention the tight parking entrance but to be fair not too tricky for a large 4x4 and a female driver  and if it proves too much the valet is more than happy to help park your vehicle. |Staff are discrete and efficient and the only slight niggle was the lack of transparency on the final invoice.|If you’re looking to stay in Dinard for a short break...

Très beau séjour au Castelbrac à Dinard.

Quasi-parfait en fait, le quasi étant très majoritairement de mon fait, enfonçant le bas de caisse de la voiture sur un des bords de l'accès au parking. Un point à noter pour les futurs clients de l'établissement: la rue en double-sens, l'accès parking (en haut. En bas le voiturier prend en charge les choses et on ne soucie de rien, bagages livrés directement en chambre) sont très étroits et il convient de faire particulièrement attention (et de ne surtout pas accéder au parking en venant de la place Jules Boutin, mais en venant du centre-ville, erreur et mauvaise appréciation pour manoeuvrer de ma part). L'accueil (et le personnel de manière générale) a été parfait, et j'insiste lourdement, c'est ce qui fait la différence dans ce genre d'établissement. L'accueil est un très bonne idée, on est reçu assis au moment du check-in à un petit bureau, côté intime très plaisant puis visite de l'hôtel - à faire quand on en connaît pas la première fois cela fait un peu dédale. La direction m'a appelé au sujet de l'incident voiture communiqué par le voiturier dans notre chambre, au moment de notre installation, se souciant de notre état d'esprit et se mettant à notre disposition pour gérer l'incident niveau assurances, enlevant le souci de nos têtes pour le reste du séjour: c'est juste parfait, je tiens à remercier et le voiturier, et surtout Monsieur Gaillard, c'est ce qu'on appelle un service 5 étoiles. Bagages livrés par le voiturier en chambre donc, aucun souci, chambre prête en temps et en heure. Personnel se souciant de notre bien-être tout au long du séjour, piscine (couloir de nage chauffé à 28 degrés, eau douce) mise à diposition très rapidement après une demande un peu matinale. Même chose d'ailleurs du côté du restaurant pour lequel je laisse un avis dédié. Niveau propreté, taille des chambres, litterie, il n'y a simplement rien à redire, c'est parfait. La vue mer de la chambre est magnifique, à marée haute comme à marée basse. La situation de l'hôtel est idéale pour visiter Dinard, avec un accès de l'hôtel à la promenade au clair de lune. Les délicates attentions (préparation du lit, petits chocolat et biscuits délicieux, le minibar en accès libre et gracieux, deux apéritifs offerts au bar de l'hôtel et j'en oublie sûrement) sont appréciées. Le petit-déjeuner avec vue sur la mer et Saint-Malo est magique.

Quelques remarques: la salle de bain est beaucoup moins pratique qu'elle n'est (très) belle, on a tendance, même en faisant attention, à mettre de l'eau absolument partout, et se retrouver avec un sol mouillé, pas glissant mais pas agréable. Il n'y a aucune séparation entre la partie douche et le reste (vasque, toilettes) -beaucoup d'escaliers, de chemins relativement étroits, un parking vite plein donc slalom entre voitures garées. Cela tient à la configuration de l'endroit, un peu étriqué, la transformation de l'ancien aquarium en hôtel de luxe a dû être une gageure architecturale. Aucunement dérangé durant notre séjour, en revanche je ne sais pas comment cela se passe pour les PMR. Pour les personnes concernées, penser à vérifier avec l'hôtel avant le séjour je pense. des retouches à faire de ci de là pour que tout soit vraiment impeccable, par exemple dans notre chambre le filtre évier, au fond de l'évier, était écaillé, dénotant avec le reste impeccable. Peinture s'écaillant un peu sur les sols/marches près du couloir de nage.

Je recommande très chaudement le Castelbrac pour un séjour...
