Ancre Terre Et Mer — Restaurant in Saint-Pierre

Disappointing experience…

Upon our arrival on the first night in La Réunion, we were recommended Ancre, Terre er Mer restaurant renowned to be very good one in St Pierre.

After a correct welcoming and an amuse-gueule to start, things started to deteriorate with the starters. We ordered 3 different dishes to share: tasteless, bland where you had to add lemon, chili, salt or pepper to get some taste. The worst were the prawns prepared the Creole way; they simply gave the pure impression they had been heated again and served. As for what was labeled as “ greek salad”, it was anything but a greek salad usually served with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and feta cheese. We got instead some yoghurt with diced cucumbers in it. It would be more judicious to mame Tzatziki instead.

One of the specialties of the restaurant is the risotto. We all agreed the restaurant would not fail here.

I ordered mi-cuit tuna with risotto; the fish was Ok. The risotto was simply terrible, looking and tasting much more like a solid mass of sticky concrete.

A real disappointment for a restaurant dedicating a special menu just for risotto.

For the experience we had, the check was also high and beyond the expectations of the dinner served. No problm fir paying high prices if one gets a nice experience in...

Coté positif : Serveur* très gentil et le cocktail très bon mais le coté négatif : On ne savait pas qu'il fallait emmener un masque dans le restaurant pour circuler vu que la pancarte " MASQUE OBLIGATOIRE " était à l'intérieur et non à l'extérieur. Je crois que c'est la patronne qui nous a réceptionné alors la meme pas un bonjour direct avec un ton : Ou est vos masques ? Comme si on a fait un crime et on lui dit gentiment que les autres clients n'avaient pas de masques aussi. Meme sur les tables* la plupart n'avaient pas de masques. On nous a prit malgré le débat qu'il y a eu. Mais selon le nom du restaurant " ancre terre* et mer " on pensait avoir de la viande à cause du mot terre et comme on etait pas fan du tartare on a changé de restaurant mais l'accueil est vraiment très mais très médiocre. On est parti dans un restaurant ou l'accueil etait très chaleureux et vraiment je recommande ( Le Plancha ). J'y vais tous les week ends au restaurant et je n'ai jamais vu un accueil aussi désespérant surtout par une patronne ( si c'est bien elle vu qu'elle avait pas la tenue comme les autres serveurs ) elle avait du mal à dire bonjour juste pour un masque alors que dans les autres restaurants meme si tu as pas de masques ne fait pas un débat et dit au moin bonjour .
