My family and I had the pleasure of starting our day at Le Grand Café de l'Univers, and it was truly a delightful experience from start to finish.

We opted for a mixed omelet, French pancake, and coffee with croissant, and each dish exceeded our expectations. The mixed omelet was perfectly cooked, fluffy, and packed with flavorful ingredients. Very nice restaurant in a great location. It was recommended to us by one of the hotel staff, so I was a bit suspicious! However, the staff were very attentive, rearranging tables to fit us in. Great menu with a wide choice so everyone got something they liked. Food was excellent, in particular the salads. I had a great steak. They also have a good selection of bottled Belgian beers, along with the usual wines and soft drinks. The food and wine were very good HOWEVER, make sure that you check that the waiter brings you the wine you order. We clearly indicated the bottle by pointing to it on the menu but he brought a chablis that was double the price and didn't clearly show the label before the bottle was opened; his manner suggested that this is a deliberate ploy to make non French speakers spend more money.
