Restaurant Crocodile — Restaurant in Saint-Quentin

We made a reservation online from the UK prior to our visit. Easily done. We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly man who managed to seat all 11 of us together and not on the 3 separate tables initially booked. We are 3 families with 5 kids between us and the staff couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome and relaxed. Colouring for the little ones, tokens for a toy grabber machine, and a great food menu for children. We were so impressed with the food, the steaks were cooked to perfection and the carpaccio was very very good. Starters were from the buffet and were all great, very fresh and a good range of items. The desserts, particularly the tiramisu and chocolate cake were delicious, I will never forget them! The restaurant was very very clean, the toilets were spotless and the kitchen is open and you could see that it was very clean and organised and the chefs took pride in their work. All in all it was a wonderful evening with great tasty and reasonably priced food and fantastic service and that is what matters. We had such a nice start to our holiday and wished we could visit again but it was one night only as we travel on through beautiful France. We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Found this place by accident as our hotel restaurant was closed. I certainly felt the wow factor when we went in. There was a huge savoury buffet and one for deserts. We were offered a choice of sitting in the main restaurant or a converted old railway carriage complete with original seats and compartments. Kids loved it. There was a great atmosphere with families enjoying a meal out. The menu was extensive with a choice of the buffet, eat as much as you want, and a menu for individual choices. We opted for a main from the individual menu and desert from the buffet. All drinks wine, beer and soft drinks were on tap and keep refilling, all included in the price!! Very good choice to stop over while travelling through France. Special recommendation for people coming from the euro tunnel. It’s easily accessible, quick detour from the main road, good parking, kitchen is open slightly longer than in other French restaurants ( until 14.30 when we were there).
