Given the praising reviews, I arrived expecting a high end culinary experience. Unfortunately, what followed was deeply disappointing and, quite frankly, dangerous.
Two members of our party, including myself, have serious food allergies. These were clearly communicated multiple times to various members of the staff. At a one Michelin star restaurant, I expected an elevated level of care and professionalism especially when it comes to health and safety. Instead, we were served not one, but two dishes that contained the exact ingredients we had explicitly stated we could not consume.
Despite asking the staff to confirm the ingredients beforehand, we were reassured everything was safe. Trusting their word, we ate the dishes only to later learn they contained the allergens we’d specifically flagged. When we brought this to the restaurant’s attention, the response was utterly dismissive. No apology. No concern. No understanding of the seriousness of what had occurred.
To add insult to injury, we were charged in full including for the dishes that could have sent us to the hospital. The food itself was underwhelming at best, far from Michelin quality. The waitstaff was polite, but the so-called managers a man and woman were shockingly rude, unprofessional, and indifferent.
I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. A restaurant of this caliber should not only deliver exceptional food but also demonstrate basic responsibility and compassion. After realizing the mistake, the staff quietly brought out new, supposedly lactose-free dishes without acknowledging the error or offering any apology.
