It has a pretty nice location. Most of the locals we saw seemed to be having drinks without dinner, but probably because it was still early. Maybe because we wanted to eat at 7 p.m. when the kitchen was just opening, maybe the head chef wasn't there yet, maybe they don't like to improvise - at any rate, our dining experience wasn't good. My tonic came in a can that was dirty when bread crumbs and other unknown things on the top. When I requested a new one, the waitress didn't hesitate (didn't apologize, either). The second can still wasn't pristine, but I let it go and wiped it off with my napkin instead. We had five dinners. We were very surprised how quickly the meal was served. loup de mer "from the grill" - it still had quite a few scales on it! Kind of bland and definitely not from the grill, but from the oven instead. It was luke warm and a bit underdone. my daughter wanted spaghetti carbonara without meat. The sauce was completely unseasoned, like they didn't feel like making an extra sauce. I guess the raw egg in the middle is customary in France. The black pig stew (traditional Corsican) with noodles was really good. The Roquefort noodles were solid, nothing really spectacular. The "market fresh mussles" were offered in marinara sauce according to the menu. When we requested in white wine marinade, the waitress said it was no problem. When we opened the pot, the smell that came out was not appetizing. The marinade was bland, no vegetables in it for seasoning, we didn't smell or taste any white wine, and the mussels did not taste fresh. We left about half of them in the pot. After the disappointing main course, we skipped dessert and coffee. Pricing is reasonable for similar dishes in good quality. All in all not a place we...
Read moreWe ended up eating here by accident having discovered that the restaurant in our hotel was not yet open for the summer. Unfortunately U Corsu was on the list of places suggested to us by the hotel receptionist. WE SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS FIRST! We were wanting to eat pizza, but having sat down and ordered apperitifs were told that pizza was not an option. We were then persuaded to have the fresh fish and were assured that 800gm would be sufficient for two. However when it (eventually) arrived it clearly wasnt. For some reason it was accompnaied by 4slices of fresh raw cucumber which gave one of the most unpleasant tastes i have ever experienced. The poor waitress was trying (unsuccessfully) to cope and consequently we waited 20 min for the bill as she tried to pacify another couple who were unhappy with the fish. Intrestingly the chef appeared and eventually confessed to the fish being only...
Read moreNot a very good experience in here. My companion ordered a pizza as we were eating elsewhere. When we joined her a bit later on, my daughter tried to drink the tap water that my companion had been served and took a glass from the empty table next to us. When she spotted this, the waitress told her that this wasn't allowed and accused us of trying to share one pizza between four! I've never experienced such a bad level of customer service. In addition, the pizza had too much cheese on it. In fairness, the side salad was quite good. In general, to be avoided. There's a cafe opposite called 'No stress Caffe'. This is the complete...
