It is unfortunately becoming normal for some restaurants to privilege some customers over others today and our experience at La Sylvia has confirmed that. When ordering, we wanted to order their gaufres and crepes. The waiter stopped us and then whispered to the manager next to her and the manager then told us that unfortunately there are no more gaufres and crepes as they use fresh produce daily and unfortunately they are out. Completely understandable at this point, so we ended up ordering overpriced supermarket ice cream desserts from Maison Carte d’Or that they didn’t even bother to indicate on their menu. As we ate our dessert in disappointment we saw new people come into the restaurant, sit down, and get served with gaufres. These were people that came just AFTER us and got served their “fresh” gaufres. We counted around 10 gaufres getting served on tables for people arriving after us. After confronting the waiter, we didn’t even get an apology as to why they acted this way. The negative reviews here show that they discriminate against specific customers, and their replies to these customers also confirms that. Who knows against who they discriminate? Absolutely avoid this restaurant...
Read moreHey folks! Today I’m exploring the charming town of Chantilly in France, and I’ve just had an incredible dining experience at Le Sylvia. This quaint, cozy restaurant is a hidden gem with a menu that’s full of surprises.
Now, let me dive into their standout dish - the hot dog with cheese. It’s not just any hot dog; it’s a culinary masterpiece. The sausage is perfectly grilled, juicy and flavorful, encased in a fresh, soft bun. But the real game-changer here is the cheese - it’s rich, melty, and adds a delightful creamy texture that elevates the whole dish.
The ambiance at Le Sylvia is warm and welcoming, with a touch of rustic charm that makes you feel right at home. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
For anyone visiting Chantilly, I highly recommend stopping by Le Sylvia. Don’t miss out on their hot dog with cheese – it’s a simple dish done extraordinarily well. It’s a delicious twist on a classic that you won’t find...
Read moreOnce we left the Château, we came across a bakery and the purveyor strongly recommended we checkout Le Sylvia, as we were looking for a place we could get a drink to cool down from the hot day but also some food. It was roughly half a kilometer away and we got to check out a number of places, but Le Sylvia was pretty much packed outside, taking this is a good sign. we got a large table inside a mostly air-conditioned space. The drinks were delicious and in one case, Lemon Drink, a surprise! We ordered a variety of entrées ranging from €5 - €18 and was extremely surprised that our entire bill for six people came in just over €100! We had a great time and look forward to a...
